Iraq a Comma.... a look at the history books of the future... Wonkette
Edited on Tue Sep-26-06 09:21 AM by RedEarth
We have no idea what Bush and Blitzer were talking about in that CNN interview that ran Sunday. But this bit from the president gave us nightmares: “I like to tell people when the final history is written on Iran — Iraq — it will look like just a comma because there is — my point is, there’s a strong will for democracy, these people want a unity government, the unity government’s functioning.”

How about hitting the bong after the interview?

A look at the history books of the future, &* @! ~+ #%$ … we mean, “after the jump.”

How is that unity government functioning over in Commaland, anyway?Iraq’s feuding ethnic and sectarian groups moved ahead Monday with forming a committee to consider amending the constitution after their leaders agreed to delay any division of the country into autonomous states until 2008.That’s sorta unity, right? Meanwhile, another hundred people got blown up. Happy Ramadan, suckaz!
Meanwhile, some retired top guns from the Pentagon are on the Hill today demanding Rumsfeld be considered an asterisk … er, “sent packing.” And some 4,000 unlucky troops got the grim news today that they’ll be in Iraq at least six weeks beyond their expected January homecomings.

1. Yesterday was National Punctuation Day
and it seems likely a bong or two got hit before wars and nations got diminished to punctuation,

Love the map. I'd send it to my Congressman, but he is too fucking dumb to get it.

2. Actually I've been thinking that...

...it would be interesting to do a mock-up of what a social studies book chapter about the Bush administration would look like two decades from now. My prediction for the graphic that will be used:

3. If Iraq
Since at least August 2003 we've been told in the run-up to and through the present that Iraq is central to the War on Terror.

If Iraq is central to the War on Terror, why does it only merit a comma? Such a vital key piece to keeping us safe and it only gets a comma? I would think this entire Iraq Fiasco merits at the very least it's own chapter.

regarding the current administration's place in the history books:

IMPEACH BUSH
(PERIOD)

5. Iraq War will be known forever as "B*sh's Folly"
and history will record him as a catastrophic, incompetent, dangerously inept and uniformed president. The WORST.
