Revolution just ain't what it used to be (Mickey Z.)
Mickey Z. -- World News Trust

Sept. 25, 2006 -- If you were to publicly declare your discontent with the U.S. government and your subsequent desire to abolish that government, the land of the free would likely reward you with an orange jumpsuit and a one-way ticket for an all-inclusive vacation at Guantanamo Bay.

Now imagine if you instead chose to stand in front of a crowded room and utter something along these lines: "I think all men -- and women -- are created equal and are endowed with certain undeniable rights, including life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. To secure these rights, governments are created and derive their powers from the consent of the governed. Whenever any form of government tries to destroy or take away these undeniable rights, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish that government and replace it with a new one."

Bingo: you're a high school history teacher. Okay class; turn to page 257. Today we'll be talking about Patrick Henry (and don't tell me "give me liberty or give me death" sounds an awful lot like what an insurgent might say).

Thomas Jefferson can pronounce: "Every generation needs a new revolution." But that doesn't mean I can. Honest Abe once declared: "Any people anywhere being inclined and having the power have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government, and force a new one that suits them better." Hey, I'd love a government that suits me -- and most humans -- better, but making plans to "shake off the existing government and force a new one" would just about guarantee you a place on that secret no-fly list.

1. That's exactly what the neocons did
A handful of overly rich neocons bought up a party - the repukes' party. Then the bought the media, religious leaders, voting machines, and politicians. They had a revolution but they did it with their money. They were tired of doing what was good for the people and the country. They think their wealth is a gift from god and they wanted the power as well as the riches.

You see the results now. Where are the conservatives who stood for a smaller government (since 2000 the government has grow by two third and they are now the largest employer?)? Conservatives use to want government out of our personal lives (anti-abortion and amendment against gay marriage?). They once believed in state rights (Supremes selection of our pResident, restrictive policies hampering state's authority like No Child Left Behinds, mandated voting laws, mandated lax environmental and consumer laws?). They use to support conservative spending (mammoth budget and trade deficits?). They once wanted family values (torture?).

When too much wealth is concentrated in too few hands, it becomes dangerous to the state. These neocons bought out just about every facet of our communications systems. Then, they used it to take control of our government. They had a bloodless revolution by using their money to buy out our government.

It is the wealthy elite who have thrived under the bushes. They have turned our government into a pawn to accumulate more wealth and destroy the democratic basis of our society - the Middle Class.

You know what Martin Luther said of the rich: "The Lord commonly gives riches to foolish people, to whom he gives nothing else." They want more than just their riches, they want our country.

3. They Sure Used Some Serious Judo On Conservatives
I don't know how the hell Goldwater Conservatives got bamboozled by the Neocons. Maybe the whole Goldwater Conservative thing was a bunch of hooey anyway.

2. If the Brits had discovered oil
There would have been no revolution.
