Why give them so many hits? Wasn't it reported, earlier this year, I think, that their viewership really took a dive after the 2004 elections?

Why give them hard data that their website does get many visitors and hence charge for advertisers?

1. You make a very important point about the current business model...

...used by many websites. Hits equals 'importance,' and importance equals higher advertising revenue. Since you can get as many hits (or more) for being reactionary assholes as you can for being intelligent and progressive, and since it's more difficult to be intelligent than reactionary, the path of least resistance is reactionary assholery.

As usual, the headlong rush for 'clicks' is driving down quality and inflating the importance of garbage like Faux.

Probably the tenth time this year I've gone straight to a fox webpage. I bet I'll do it another ten times before the year is out.

On rare occasions, it's a source from which I can learn (i.e. read between the lines, know the enemy a little better), and I'll continue to do so as I see fit.

It's not up to anyone to tell others what they shouldn't look at.

I hope that your "reading between the lines" of Fox is better than of the OP.

There is a website, don't remember the name, where the motto is: we watch Fox so that you don't have to..
