Why Virginia Is Turning Blue
Virginia is the home of some of the best colleges and universities in the country. UVa, William and Mary, James Madison, Va. Tech, etc. Higher education equals a smarter, more tolerant, more culturally diverse populace. That populace reproduces and creates a new generation of brighter people.

Virginia is a perfect example of how to turn a red state blue. Look for North Carolina, Tenn. to soon follow suit.

2. On average, people become more liberal the more educated they are
Clearly there are always exceptions - though only Rice appears to be intelligent.

This is also the reason that RWers hate education for poor people - they just want to educate rich RW elitists.

5. lol - that's a stereotype I simply cannot support
Some of the most liberal people on the planet (George Sorros (sp) for instance) are also the richest.

Lots of actors, real entrepreneurs & other people who have made it are quite liberal.

Lots of us rich yankees up here in the NE are liberal.

This stereotype doesn't fly with me.
