This is the first time on DU that I've used a person's image for my avatar. Paul Wellstone is the only other person I've even considered.

(2) "Save Image" to desktop.
(3) Use whatever graphics editor you have to crop the image square. (MS Paint might even do.)
(4) Save the cropped image to your desktop.
(5) Use DU's options/Profile to 'upload' it for your new avatar.

That's it in a (tahiti)nutshell.

It's even easier to 'steal' an avatar anyone else uses.
(1) get the image's URL
(2) Use that URL for your avatar.
