Allen put a FUCKIN SEVERED DEER HEAD in black family's mailbox?
Is this for real?

http://www.salon.com/news/wire/2006/09/25/allen/

Shelton, a tight end and wide receiver for the Cavaliers in the early 1970s, said Allen used the N-word only around white teammates.

During a deer hunt with Allen in the early 1970s, Shelton said, Allen asked whether black families lived in the area before stuffing a female deer's head into the mail box of a black household.

"George insisted on taking the severed head, and I was a little shocked by that," Shelton said.

"This was just after the movie "The Godfather" came out with the severed horse's head in the bed," Shelton told the AP.

1. I tell you this much, if there can be corroboration of this from more than
one source, Allen will be crushed like an ant. That is a serious matter.

59. VA is turning purple, but I think support for Webb is not so much pro-Dem
... as it is anti-racism. Republicans can still easily win elections in most of the South--all they have to do is quit acting like fucking idiots. Fortunately for us, most of them haven't figured out how to do that.

away from the Republicans. Virginia is not a racist dirtbag state and in fact is actually better educated in the aggregate than most states.

Charlottesville and much of NOVA is BLUE BLUE BLUE... along with Richmond city and some other areas.

His poll numbers submarined after Macaca... even alot of conservatives don't care for racists and xenophobes... especially when the "foreigner" in question is Virginia born and bred.

51. I think a lot of non-southerners don't understand Virginia
I'm from New York, but my father's side of the family is from rural Virginia and I spent a lot of my youth there. When I grew up and travelled in the deep south, I realized that Virginia was very, very different.

It may sometimes go red, but people forget that Virginia elected an African American Democratic governor with lots of white support (and not just in the DC suburbs) just a few years ago, something most southern states are not ready for.

Rural Virginia is very strange politically. Nominally conservative, but very "decent".

33. It's relevant because Allen makes it relevant.
All he had to do is say he used the word and there'd be no story. He continually lies and dissembles as easily as he takes a breath. It proves his nice guy image is just that, a carefully constructed image. The Macaca incident, the jew heritage and now his history of using racial slurs. It shows he cant tell the truth and his first reaction is to lie and keep lying.

Usually, under the influence of :-) substances, I danced like an idiot, was less than judicious in my choice of sexual partners and skinny dipped in semi public places.

Putting a severed animal head in someone's mailbox based solely on their ethnic background wasn't anywhere in the mix. MKJ

His policies alone are enough that I would never vote for his sorry ass. The fact (?) that he stuffed a deer in someone's mailbox for any reason is a mere trivial event...his forming of his mentality in his political choices are enough for me...

Many complain about Robert Byrd's past as a KKK member...it's illevant now.

... some pranks are pretty much harmless fun, some cause a little property damage, etc.

But this is a whole 'nother thing. Seeking out a black family to put a head in their mailbox.

No, this is pathological. There is no statute of limitations on this kind of sick, especially when corroborated with recent racist acts.

16. Larry Sabato Sure Sounded Cryptic
He sure didn't do Felix any favors on Tweety tonight. He said he knew, but wouldn't go into details, that Allen has used the "n" word and that there was more he knew but couldn't say.

Tweety tried to play the "aw shucks...we all have used that word"...but Sabato hit home the point that Allen has repeated denied EVER using that word. Hell, I'm a white Jew and I'll admit I've used the word...dare I say I also used the word Polak and several other ethnic slurs that were frowned on in public discourse but were the mainstay of thousands of bar and dirty jokes. I'm sure many others here can say the same, yet it was not the same as hanging Confederate flags all over the place and cozying up to the modern-day version of the KKK.

The bullshit that Felix claims he never knew his grandfather was Jewish disqualifies this racist liar from any credibility. Others looked the other way because Allen was such a good bully and bullshitter. He was "cool" cause his dad was the big football coach and I'm sure he got a free pass on a lot of his behavior...especially if he could hook people up with a pair of tix for the next Redskins/Cowboys game.

Hopefully the people of Virginia have seen/heard enough now...but I have a feeling we haven't heard the last of this. I suspect there's another smoking gun out there that Allen knows is about to explode and desperately trying to run away from this topic. It's truly kibuki theater...

45. I watched Larry Sabato, too. He certainly knows more than he's
telling. I went to high school with Allen and saw the graffiti he scrawled on the walls of the school - "Die Whitey" "Fuck whitey" - in a failed effort to make the kids at our all white school think it was the work of black kids from a rival school for the purpose of stirring up racial tension the week of a big basketball playoff game. He has admitted the graffiti, but denies it was racist. It was. More George Allen lies.

Another member of our high school class also went to college with George in Virginia. He recalls an incident in which Allen was bullshitting with some guys before class about a football game in which one of the black players missed a catch in the endzone. Allen's comment: "If it was a watermelon, he'd have caught it."

The media hasn't yet caught on to Allen's interesting choice of name for his son - Forrest - as in Gen. Nathan Forrest, KKK founder. His two daughters also share names with prominent Confederates. There are also sealed divorce records he wouldn't want made public that tell tales of philandering (this from a knowledgeable source) that might make the "family values" he touts seem kind of hollow.

So very glad the public is finally being introduced to the real George Allen. He's a piece of work.

17. Racism aside, that's a federal offense.
I believe that would be considered a violation of the U.S. Postal Service. A mailbox is not a receptacle for anything but U.S. mail.

If the box contained mail and blood got on the mail, that's a violation, too.

Aside from that, it is terrorism. It would sure freak me out to see something like that in my mailbox.

38. What a yuckster! George Allen could fit right in my old neighborhood.
Jeeze, kind of like the drunken Bay Ridge kids who used to go out joy riding into Sunset Park (a heavily Hispanic area of Brooklyn) and scream "PUERTO RICANS SUCK!" and then burn rubber getting away down 4th Avenue laughing all the way.

The big dare among the brain dead set was to do the same in Dyker Heights, only yelling "GUINEAS SUCK!". This challenge was to the best of my knowledge never met mainly because Dyker Heights was controlled by the sort of Italian American who would leave their bodies to be found in the trunk of a stolen car on the Belt Parkway.

My point is that I sincerely doubt that any of these Brooklyn morons have become United States Senators much less serious candidates for President.

He's an asshole--though I could see him and George Bush yucking it up about their college pranks. All just fun and games, right guys?
