Comas and Culling the"herd"
Edited on Mon Sep-25-06 05:36 PM by undergroundpanther
What does the number of Iraq vets coming home brain damaged..
and the Terri Shiavo Fiasco a few years back Have in Common?

SEC. 9. SENSE OF THE CONGRESS.

It is the Sense of Congress that the 109th Congress should consider policies regarding the status and legal rights of incapacitated individuals who are incapable of making decisions concerning the provision, withholding, or withdrawal of foods, fluid, or medical care.

That statement asks..
Does the STATE or CORPORATION have the legal privelege to KILL your loved ones off ..IF the state and it's 'experts' for hire says they are "too damaged" to live? Too Damaged for WHOM? How does one put a price tag on someone else's being and existence and whom has the authority or intimate knowlege of anothers life to determine it useless to be junked? Are hurt people now to be appraised like a broken down car? Stripped for parts and junked? I ask, whom deterimes whom are too damaged? Is it the state or some company calling a human being too damaged to use? or is it family calling the person too damaged? A burden on family who would rather be doing other things, than caring? Whom gets the privilege of declaring whom is not worthy or too useless to live..for WHAT??
I myself would NOT trust the state to KNOW what my best interests are injured or Not.

But there is still another level to this:
Nazi Germany had a policy of terminating so-called "unworthy life", meaning the killing of retarded or mentally ill or of severely physically handicapped patients. In order to get the German people to agree with this policy, they produced propaganda films which depicted the life of handicapped or mentally ill people as a living hell. Then they asked the audience to have compassion on those unfortunate creatures and support putting them out of their misery.
The political reasoning behind this was of course not in any way compassion, it was Eugenics and getting rid of useless eaters.
And that 'getting rid of useless eaters' is why Bush did nothing to help New Orleans, and it is why BUSH is CUTTING FUNDS FOR BRAIN DAMAGED VETERANS now..

House and Senate versions of the defense appropriation bill would chop funding for the Defense and Veterans Brain Injury Center from $14 million to $7 million. The center runs 10 facilities across the country, including one at Fort Bragg that has performed research and treated soldiers' injuries since 1998."It's just ridiculous," said Sgt. Maj. Colin Rich, a Fort Bragg soldier who has been legally blind since he was shot in the head while serving in Afghanistan in 2002. "Whoever is cutting the budget must have a head injury themselves." "With the bombs, the gunshot wounds and everything else, their plate is full," he said. "They need that money."The Pentagon asked only for $7 million and didn't respond properly when congressional staffers tried to find out whether it needed more money for the program, said Jenny Manley, a spokeswoman for the Senate appropriations committee. "The Pentagon needs to get behind the things that they want," she said. "Otherwise, we'd just be kind of guessing about what they really need."

Did you get that? Jenny Manley, spokeswoman for the Senate Appropriations Committee, whose official contact information can be found here, essentially says "wounded Vets be damned, if the commas aren't in the right place on form 12345547aw2, they don't get any freaking money."

This is all a shell game so certain sick individuals with power can KILL the "weak"through the STATE to remake society,

When the law is corrupt I do not understand why we don't go against law? When Law is twisted it is not lawful. Bush gave himself permission to murder,he wants to redefine torture, too. Can't you see this administration is lawless? criminal? Depraved? Not to be TRUSTED or Obeyed? Still we are too damn obedient to authority figures ,and when the authorities twist laws immorally we just go along and keep our noses clean because obedience is easier than standing up... alone.

When psychopaths write the laws the law becomes psychopathic to serve their urges and legitimize the dark ugly wants of psychopaths.. It's a pattern folks. Bush's cabal wants to redefine torture and declare who can live and who dies, they do it simply so they can torture people,it's what they enjoy doing ,they enjoy holding others lives in their hands they get off on CONTROL. And they make policies like endless war and killing off useless eaters, because they all are PSYCHOPATHS and right now they are writing the laws of our nation...

1. 25 years as a nurse have caused me to look at this both ways.
I've spent entirely too much time caring for ancient people being tortured with the most technology our medical system can provide simply because the family has the same false hope the Schindlers were clinging to. There is a point at which heroics become not only futile but injurious, and families are often not aware of that point. Hospitals at this point rely on family conferences with nursing, physicians, pastoral care, and psychologists to help them realize the fact. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't, and the patient is the loser in the latter case, being forced to cling to the misery of a life that is over.

Then again, I know how the right wing tends to use the ability to pull the plug, concentrating on the chronically ill, the retarded, the very young, the very old, and all of them poor.

While it would be nice to have a mechanism in place to intervene in the former, the latter prospect has always been too horrifying to consider one.

My sentiments would have been with creating such a mechanism through ethics committees in hospitals until this bunch of fascists grabbed power. I now know why it has never been done. The prospect of a totalitarian government abusing the process is chilling.

2. Holding another's innocent death or life
in your hands is absolute power. And it corrupts absolutely.
That is why the STATE definitely cannot be trusted, they'd kill to save $$$..Family cannot be trusted but they are slightly more trustworthy, but also more vulnerable to abuse the side of preserving life than anyone else may be .
Regardless, holding others lives and deaths in your hands is god-like absolute power and god-like power corrupts the power holder every time ..as it blinds them to seeing compassion and reality..

Some soldiers and serial killers have said when they are killing others they feel invincible immortal powerful, like gods.
And some people believe in miracles, that free will is absolute, that god will intervene in their loved ones life even when reality says otherwise.

The Human Condition hurts us so much we strive to be like gods to escape it.And yet here we are.
