Sen. Allen denies using "N-word"
LINK

Sen. George Allen (news, bio, voting record) on Monday denounced as "ludicrously false" claims from a former college football teammate that he frequently used a racial slur to refer to black people.

Dr. Ken Shelton, now a radiologist in Hendersonville, N.C., also alleges that Allen, a former University of Virginia quarterback, once stuffed the severed head of a deer into a black household's oversized mail box.

In an Associated Press interview Monday, Allen vehemently denied the allegations Shelton made in an article published Sunday in the online magazine Salon.com and an AP interview Sunday night. His campaign released statements from four other ex-teammates defending Allen and rejecting Shelton's claims.

"The story and his comments and assertions in there are completely false," Allen said during an interview with AP reporters and editors. "I don't remember ever using that word and it is absolutely false that that was ever part of my vocabulary."

Questions about racial insensitivity have dogged the Republican throughout his re-election bid against Democrat Jim Webb. His use of the word "macaca" in referring to a Webb campaign volunteer of Indian descent in August prompted an outcry. The word denotes a genus of monkeys and, in some cultures, is considered an ethnic slur.

25. I guess he only uses that word in FRENCH?
This is a person who calls a man "monkey" TO HIS FACE...
IN PUBLIC...
when he _KNOWS_ he's being FILMED....

But we're supposed to believe he's never said
the word "nigger" in PRIVATE?

Nope, I'm not buyin' it. And I doubt that anyone
else will either.

3. "Questions about racial insensitivity.."
Using the word n----r and "macaca" and stuffing a severed head into a black family's mailbox isn't "racial insensitivity." It's deplorable RACISM.

28. White folks MUCH prefer saying it that way... it allows them...
... to continually deny that any *specific* person is racist, while paying lipservice to the evils of racism...

And after speaking piously about "insensitivity", the next step is to deride "political correctness".

It's not about race, it's about class, don'tchaknow.

36. The hilarious thing is...
... I can't think of a MORE PC term than "racial insensitivity."

Seriously, has the media sunk to coddling the precious feelings of racist pigs?

I think I know the answer to that question. Yes, as long as they're REPUBLICAN racist pigs. :banghead:

Yep. He's so not gonna win Virginia. Even the Richmond Times-Disgrace will have to distance themselves.

35. Well, he has to deny he fucked that pig, doesn't he?
Though I doubt this is a genuine LBJ strategy, which is to plant an outright falsehood and force the opponent to answer to it. There seems to be plenty of truth in this dissection of Allen's nasty history.

I think the bastard actually used the term, I think he was the one who gave Shelton the WIZARD nickname, I think his own nickname was NECK, as in REDNECK, and I do think the stories about the noose and Confederate flag in his dorm room are all true. His high school picture has him WEARING a Confederate lapel pin, so that isn't much of a leap. One of his old campaign ads has said flag planted in a bookcase in the background. He posed in Confederate costume with his geeky little kid fairly recently. Now, you can't long for the days of the old Confederate south without also longing for some of that free labor to keep the plantation running, can you?

What I don't know is WHERE he learned to hate like that. Was his daddy a "neck" as well?

7. Virginia's a pretty moderate state now. This will kill him in NoVA.
NoVA has basically become a clone of suburban Maryland.

14. I live in NoVA...I think Allen is done
Obviously NoVa is not represntative of the rest of state. But this is going to take him off message for at least a week and true swing votes in Richmond and norfolk will probably be more inclined to vote for Webb.

Webb whould probably use the argument that even if he losed, he is coming back in two years for another shot because Allen want to run for President.

17. NoVa has become big enough to outweigh much of the state.
I saw that with Kaine's election last year. If the Dems win NoVa huge and also do well in Henrico County and the Newport News area, then the Republicans can't win anymore. VA has become much more urban.

10. Ask Shelton's teammates what nickname Allen gave him
The answer is WIZARD, as a KKK head was named Shelton, and Allen thought that was a hoot.

Now, if Allen wasn't a racist, why did he stick Shelton with that nickname? And why do his old teammates still call him that to this day?

The SALON article has the brutal ring of truth about it. Felix has spent his entire life stepping in macaca and dragging it across the carpet; now it's time for him to smell the results.

This part is especially disgusting, but sounds childishly about right for ole Felix:

"George insisted on taking the severed head, and I was a little shocked by that," Shelton said.

"This was just after the movie "The Godfather" came out with the severed horse's head in the bed," Shelton told the AP.

Who was it who heard him make the "watermelon" remark?

That person should get the word out about that quote.

I don't know who is defending his ass, but you can sure bet that they are hard core rw bastards.

I saw the high school graffiti he did with my own eyes. I saw the confederate flags too. There isn't any doubt in my mind that the doctor is telling the honest to god truth.

Which is ironic since the little shit was from California.

You have to wonder exactly WHERE he got those attitudes? Was it Daddy, or Momma, or both? Or somewhere else?
