Way to go, Rosie! (O'Donnell's Comments Stir Ire of other View Hosts)
Rosie's View: 'Radical Christians' Same as 9/11 Terrorists
By Jeff Johnson
CNSNews.com Senior Staff Writer
September 14, 2006

(CNSNews.com) - Just two weeks into her new job as co-host of "The View," comedienne, actress and political activist Rosie O'Donnell has made her views about Christianity known to the world.

While discussing the 9/11 anniversary and the war in Iraq on Sept. 12, O'Donnell compared "radical Christianity" to the Islamo-fascist beliefs of those who planned and carried out the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Advocates for traditional, biblical Christianity are not surprised by O'Donnell's attack.

<snip>

"One second, We were attacked, not by a nation," O'Donnell argued. "And as a result of the attack and the killing of nearly 3,000 innocent people we invaded two countries and killed innocent people in their countries."

<snip>

"And just one second," O'Donnell said. "Radical Christianity is just as threatening as radical Islam in a country like America where we have a separation of church and state. We're a democracy here."

<snip>

Randy Sharp, director of special projects for the American Family Association, told Cybercast News Service that "No one should be surprised when Rosie O'Donnell shows her contempt for Christianity and her anti-Christian bias."

"It's been a matter of public record for quite some time now," Sharp explained. "Rosie has a well-documented hatred for the war on terrorism, a hatred for our president, and a hatred for the principles of Christianity."

1. Let "Islamofacism" die like the term "homicide bomber"
Let FOX and the Neo-Cons be The ONLY Ones using this inane and inaccurate term. :-)

2. I don't see where Rosie said anything about hating Christianity.
She said "radical Christianity."

The spin on this is ridiculous.

EVERYONE hates - or should hate - all radical behavior in any religion.

5. No, but the knee jerking among the radical believers
is starting to look a lot like goose stepping to me, too.

She's everything these haterful men and their bitter women hate: female, leftist, lesbian, freethinker, intelligent, and SUCCESSFUL.

My guess is that they'll start one of their vicious letter writing campaigns to get her thrown off the air.

4. I'm with Rosie and I am again the radical Christian philosphy and their
hate-based excuse for a religion. It is like blasphemy against what Christ stood for.

6. Am I Going to Have To Start Watching The View?
I've previously had no strong opinion on O'Donnell other than a vague liking of her, but if she's got the nerve to have real opinions on TV ... I may have to at least TiVo it...

But, I thought that the 'christian' Right didn't have anybody looking out for them because they're 'PERSECUTED'.

9. whether you agree, or disagree with what O'Donnell says...
she'll be gone in nothing flat; if she values the platform she is currently standing on she'll need to find a way to 'put in up the middle' in that after having manipulated themselves around Star Jones as a sea trial...Rosie O'Donnell will not be an issue for very long imo

i mean...Dick Gregory she ain't http://www.dickgregory.com

12. Riiiight.
When Radical Christians start respecting our Democracy/Seperation of Church & State they'll stop be called out like this.
Until then we need to call them out and alert as many people as possible to the danger they present to this country,our Democracy.We need to expose these people so we can begin to fight them.

Thanks to Rosie for doing just that.And thanks to the Admins. at D.U. for having the "Jesus Camp" ad as well.

If you haven't watched the trailer for "Jesus Camp" I urge you to do so;It is a frightening glimpse into the mindset of radical Christians and gives you an idea of what we're up against.
