"Why is this intel report coming out NOW?" WTF?

This is the meme of the morning, and the pre-determined answer handed to the punditry seems to be that it is politically motivated to embarrass the GOP and Bush prior to the November. But wait a minute...this report was finished months ago, and was not being released by the administration because it was too volatile to release before the election. So "why is this report coming out now" is not a valid question, at least, not the way they're putting it. The question is, why was the truth being withheld from the American people in the first place?

Maybe somebody else on the inside WITH A CONSCIENCE that got the better of him! My point was, whomever "leaked" the report, it was already being withheld for political purposes, but there is no mention of that. It must somehow be the works of democrats trying to embarrass republicans when the truth leaks out. God, how a real media could eat this up and spit it back at them!

...this NIE would never have seen the light of day. They say it's classified. Classified to keep it from who? Does anyone think it's a secret to the terrorists that Iraq is a gift BushCo handed to them in March 2003??

Another question the "liberal" media should be asking is WHY the invasion and occupation of Iraq has helped to spread terrorism. UNLAWFUL DETENTION and TORTURE figure highly in the handbook on "how to win enemies and influence people to want to kill you", though there are many reasons, all leading back to willful mismanagement due to unchecked greed and lofty pride.
