A thought on the Big Dog Clinton smackdown of Lil' Sissy Chrissy Wallace.
...I think that the Democratic party has come to terms with the idea that the caged Rottweiler (Clinton) should be released and a cry of havoc should be shouted. Clinton, combative, feisty Clinton, is the worst possible nightmare for the neoCON-RepubliCON sissies. Can you imagine Clinton, leaping into the fray of rightwing nuthouse commentators and doing the same thing on their battleground night after night (who's up next? Limpballs? Who's next after that? O'Lielly, Insanity, etc).

To paraphrase Bill Shakespeare, "cry havoc and let slip the Big Dog of War."

5. I think thats a mischaracterization
Bill describes his relationships with the other side as pragmatic, in order to do something good, not close.

4. I cannot for the life of me understand ....
What happened to the BALLS in our party ?

I rarely lose arguments against RWers .... they know better than to even start .....

Yet ALL the Democratic Leaders seem afraid of being Liberal .... of being Progressive ....

They are afraid of the outstanding legacy of FDR, Truman, Kennedy, Johnson, Carter and Clinton ....

I am PROUD to be a Democrat .. I am PROUD of the ideals we possess ....

I am ashamed of the lack of FIGHT in that party ....

Get out there .. and FIGHT in the battle of ideas ..... We WILL win ....

8. Well said Tra
I think many of us here feel the same frustration. We have the high ground AND the american people behind us and they ignore it. It "does" make me feel as though they only care about the big doners and not about us any longer.

10. They are trapped in the insular beltway world of rationalization and. . .
. . .and denial.

7. As Arianna pointed out on Reliable Sources. . .

HUFFINGTON: . . .What this may lead to which could be good news is that Bill Clinton may wake up to the fact that there is a real war (INAUDIBLE) going on to define who is going keep America safer. And for him to try to have it both ways, to have Laura Bush do the keynote during his conference, as though we're all in this together, to have Rupert Murdoch, Chris Wallace' ultimate boss, do the fund-raiser for his wife, all that stuff is simply not making it as clear and as distinct as it to needs to be for the American people.

There are two very different views, and there should be leading up to the '06 election, about who is going to keep America safer. And Bill Clinton needs to decide if he's just a former president or a former Democratic president helping his party define what is at stake in the upcoming election. So this may be a good wake-up call for him. http://transcripts.cnn.com/TRANSCRIPTS/0609/24/rs.01.html">Transcript

And, in case you didn't catch Howie's outrageous coverage of the Wallace-Clinton dust up, I've posted my http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=show_mesg&forum=364&topic_id=2212104&mesg_id=2212104">letter to Kurtz (with cc to Media Matters).
