Unity '08: Who do you think will be on its ticket?
There's been a talk of the "radical middle" starting a pseudo third party known as Unity '08 to appeal to the "center" of the political spectrum:

If you had to predict who would jump ship the our side and from the GOP to form the unity ticket, who would it be? I think that the Unity ticket would be Bob Kerrey and John Danforth. I could also see Lieberman doing this.

2. McCain for sure, maybe Hillary or Joe.
I think most know McCain will be the prez part of the team, maybe Hillary or Joe as VP. Check out the founders, check out who took a leave from the progressive company they founded to support McCain in 08.

3. Bob Kerrey/John Danforth
Really wouldn't be a bad ticket. I may not agree with both of them that often, but I do respect their views, and frankly thats a hell of a lot more than I can say about 2/3 of the pols in this country.

7. I don't see it as being viable either

I don't think that the ticket itself would be cohesive enough to win. But the idea of a "moderate" third party is a potent one if you get the right people to run. I could see Bill Gates running, who's remade his image from a monoplistic bully against companies like Netscape, into one of a philanthropist. He could probably run a a saner version of Perot.

8. My sentiments exactly, so I offer up McCain/Voldemort!!!
We know what would happen to McCain in this scenario though.

Agent Mike, Voldemort is a FICTITiOUS character so this couldn't really happen, mkay? :hi:

10. I kinda hope nobody's interested in that ticket.
The Democratic 08 field is incredibly talented and I don't see a great call for a third party "middle" run.

There are always a few gadflies out there who want to get on MEET THE PRESS.

Unfortunately, I see Lieberman being one of those gadflies.

The good news on that is, he'll be available. Because Mr. Lamont is about to take Joe's current job.
