"Did Rumsfeld say Iraqi soldiers were doing 95% of the house clearing?"

That question was posted by the administrator of Bring Home the 172nd Stryker Brigade. Replies following the parent post discuss the the 2,700 US dead, the lies of the Bush administration, the mobilization of the military community to get rid of Rumsfeld, and the smell of sulfur. :evilfrown: These families have a lot to be upset about, imo.

The 172nd Stryker Brigade is from Fort Wainwright, Alaska. Last July Rumsfeld extended the brigade's tour to Iraq indefinitely. Three soldiers from the 172nd have died since the extension. Senator Ted Stevens must have his hands full trying to appease both the brigade's families as well as the WH's Crown Princes of Hell at the same time. Stevens had opposed McCain's 2005 amendments to the DoD's authorization/appropriations bill prohibiting the US from engaging in torture. John Dean says in his book "Conservatives without Conscience" that Stevens argued McCain's amendments would actually increase torture~. That "logic" would make Stevens the ultimate sulfer suck-up, and likely of little help to the 172nd.

Did Rumsfeld say that the Iraqi soldiers were doing 95% of the house clearing in Baghdad?

Col. Mike Shields, commander of the 172nd Stryker Brigade which is conducting much of the security operation in the capital, said his men were searching and clearing 1,000 to 3,000 buildings a day.

It smells of sulfur here.

2. tour to Iraq indefinitely
These soldiars cannot keep up the indefinite tours...they are not getting appropriate breaks...they are not seeing their families....they are getting no real counseling...

They are going to have to bring back the draft.....

3. The Four Crown Princes of Hell think the soldiers are bionic
Interestingly, none of them have served any significant time in the military. Rumsfeld must refer to his father's military service to bind himself to any military cause. Cheney has five deferments, Rove served no time, and Bush got the NG during a war.

Last week Sen. Voinovich said that if we didn't deal with Iran, Iraq would always be a problem. With what army are we going to deal with Iran? Naturally Voinovich is another chickenhawk. Govt. officials and their hangers on are so easy to pick out. The ones who want to go to war have never had the experience themselves. There is no way in hell they can understand the hardships experienced by the military because they can't remotely relate.

5. From what I've read, Iraqis are doing most of the house clearing.
As in Iraqi death squads are going around to all the households with Sunni names and murdering them in a location that is clearly outside of their house. Then they dump their bodies in ditches.
