Texas Senate Race: Hutchison v. Radnofsky - Texas Dems need

your support!

Barbara Ann Radnofsky

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=6124305

Q: I am an under-represented liberal in Texas. Barbara Ann Radnofsky, a lawyer and mediator in Houston, is the Democratic nominee against Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison (R). I am excited, but am I just deluding myself? Is there any possible way that Radnofsky can win? -- Lane Jaeckle Santos, Irving, Texas

A: I just don't see it. Even if the numbers become even bleaker for the GOP nationwide than they already are, I can't see this race as part of the mix. I would be very surprised if Radnofsky came within single digits.

Here is the current situation:

Commentary:

http://blogs.chron.com/bluebayou/2006/09/constituent_allergies.html

It seems that this year, some Texas Republicans are developing severe allergies to their constituents. First we've had the spectacle of Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison http://blogs.chron.com/texaspolitics/archives/2006/08/the_alleged_deb.html">avoiding a debate with her challenger, http://www.radnofsky.com">Barbara Ann Radnofsky, claiming that she's too busy up in Washington, while sending out a http://hutchison.senate.gov/August2006Newsletter.mht">newsletter talking about how excited she is to come back to Texas in August. (She did, apparently, interact with Texans while here, though only in small organized groups inclined to support her; maybe a dose of benadryl makes that safe.)

(Hutchison's tactic has been refusing to debate during the period before her trip home, and now that she's safely back in DC, being dodgy about the schedule. Obviously she wants this to happen as late as possible in the campaign and, I suspect, at three in the morning so no one will see it. It all smells of fear.)

This is a call to all Texans and all Democrats! Please support http://www.radnofsky.com">Barbara Ann Radnofsky as the next Senator of Texas! Please donate to Barbara Ann's campaign here:

a result of a lack of funds sufficient to counter Hutchison, so you don't see Radnofsky hardly at all. It's as if she's a footnote.

The thing is, you don't see much of Hutchison either. So, if supporters can infuse her camplaign with cash now, perhaps she can catch Hutchison off-guard and put some ads in the papers, radio and TV.

6. I hate when any of them D or R put pictures of their spouse or children

into their campaigns as if raising children qualifies anyone for anything.

5. this is why American elections are a farce.
No debates. Just a plea for special interest money to further lies about personal reputations over a debate of issues. Issues are just a front for the real election. Who can buy the most favors. Amazing, you get an honest pol about 25% of the time.

7. debate an EMPTY chair - then tell it like it is about Hutchinson
How republicans

disrespect the voters of texas by refusing to debate

support torture as a family value

recruit terrorists with their Iraq policy

plan the destruction of social security

refuse to let seniors get cheap meds because they will not let medicare negotiate prices

sell America's future to COMMUNIST China because they are financing the republican debt

impsoing a birth tax on ALL American babies

etc.
