McCain Wants Bolton Confirmed Quickly
He does not get it, does he? Or is just paying the master for a timid revolt on torture. Bolton is one of the main reasons why a) Chavez said what he said and b) (even more to the point) the audience at the UN responded as enthusiastically as they did!

McCain Wants Bolton Confirmed Quickly
By THE ASSOCIATED PRESS

Filed at 12:36 p.m. ET

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Sen. John McCain on Sunday urged quick confirmation for John Bolton as U.N. ambassador, saying the nominee is needed to talk back to ''two-bit dictators'' such as Venezuela's president.

McCain, R-Ariz., joined lawmakers from both parties in condemning Hugo Chavez's speech last week at the United Nations in which the Venezuelan called President Bush ''the devil.''

''I would say that this is an argument to get John Bolton confirmed as our U.N. ambassador,'' McCain said on CBS' ''Face the Nation.'' ''He's smart, he's tough, he will respond to these guys. And he could talk back to these two-bit dictators who have the airfare to New York.''

2. To hell with "fast" "quick", all that crap. How about "right"?
How about counting all the votes, assessing all the intellegence, doing the job well, checking out someone fully, considering everything? What is it with the Need for Speed?

9. Isn't it true that Bolton didn't even attend Chavez's speech?
I thought I remember hearing he didn't have the guts to show. Did he make some bold statement in response?
I have no comment one way or the other regarding what Chavez said, but did Bolton utter some memorable and fiery statement that was somehow missed by the media? Did he say or do something to draw other countries to bush*'s defense?
Or is he waiting for confirmation?

McCain is a blowhard. He says shit like this and has nothing to back it up. It amazes me that anyone still listens to him.

13. McCain is an authoritarian ass, constantly seeking someone to command
... him and incapable of autonomous, value-centered action. Raised by an autocratic father, schooled at Annapolis, career military, survived by obeying his captors in North Viet Nam, he's sycophantic at the nucleus of his cells. He takes abuse like he seeks it. He's addicted to it - masochistic ass.

15. I totally agree. And McCain can kiss my
butt as well.

Bolton is the reason there is no follow-through, especially help for Darfor. Then they blame the UN for nothing getting done. As someone said on one of the talk shows this morning "The UN is just a building". The countries have to do it.

17. 'two-bit dictators''
Musharef is a General that overthrew a democraticaly elected Pres. of Pakistan. He is never called a dictator by the RWing in the US but that is exactly what he is.
