57. Thanks to whoever kicked this thread..
I missed the interview when it first aired,
now that I've seen it; all I can say is "WOW!"

What I noticed..

Wallace was down tripping right from the beginning
with the first, second and third remarks regarding
Bill's health scare, then quoting from his script.

Wallace was looking away most of the time when addressing
President Clinton, adding longer than normal blinks
as he was talking. After the acceptable intro into
the CGI. He rattled off: "The Bin Laden, do enough.." question
at the same time hunkering down, shifting in his seat
thinking: Oh boy, this is going to be SWEET.

After Clinton responded in great detail, (nice to have total recall, Bill)
Wallace came back strong once again, (which surprised me) as he sounded well
rehearsed as if he had been coached for a possible Clinton response,
taking the question deeper. Yes, deeper, until Bill pulled the
rug right out from under him, noting he was unable to get
certification from Tenent, Bin Laden was responsible for the
attack on the Cole!

At that point in time, Wallace knew he was in trouble. Clinton had
put HIM on the HOT SEAT! The faux hunter was now the hunted..
No one had provided Wallace with a plausible response to counter
what Clinton had just said...at this point, he knew he was screwed,
and wanted to go back to the safety of discussiong the CGI.. But NO...
Not so fast, Clinton proceeded to give the audience a reference point,
Clark's book..He said, It's all there, just read the book!..and suggested
Wallace do the same..

Also, Clinton said to Wallace, "you don't ask the RW the same questions you
ask me, do you?"... (Good point for future follow up!)

BRAVO! and Check!

3. What bothers me is the aftermath.
Wallace sitting with a panel including Brit Hume, who tried to portray Clinton as having a 'temper' because he fought back against Wallace
spewing lies.

40. It's like a psychiatrist saying you're in denial and all you can say
is, "No, I'm not!" This interview was an incredible attempt at a hatchet job. Had the roles been reversed, with Bush having been hit with those, questions, (Clinton is right. Why hasn't he been hit with those questions?), Bush would have had an annurism in the chair. How does the Fox cable channel call itself "news?"

67. great line
"... annurism in the chair."

Or he would have had a tantrum and ripped out his ear plug to Rove, stomping off the set trying to open the nearest available door.

51. hume forgot to mention that although clinton treated the bombing
on the world trade center as a police issue--we caught the guy who did it and he's in prison for life

also, the guy seated on the right (next to wallace) said yes, everyone did say it was wag the dog--all washington was saying that

(then i had to go throw up for watching fucking faux)

60. take this into consideration
Enjoyed reading your analysis, Tellurian.

The panel is, of course, patently unfair. But let's not discount what attribution theory in media research says. It says that we overestimate the influence of the mass media on others.

Give people a little credit. They may very well understand what Fox is doing. By disparaging Clinton in such a format, where he has no chance to respond, it is the communicator who looks bad.

83. That was my next thought...
If stupidface points his finger at someone and blurts out a talking point (read: lie) with an angry look on his face, it's because he's a 'strong leader'. If Clinton defends himself from lies, it's cuz he has a 'temper'.

34. On Another Board, I See The Same
their accusations of the man have no substance or credibility anymore. People are watching that interview with Chris Wallace and bringing up valid points, then one or two will come back with just insults. They have NOTHING!

These people have swallowed the lies of the right wing propaganda machine for so long, that they now can't admit that they are wrong about EVERYTHING concerning Bill Clinton. They know they have been duped, yet they can't stomach admitting to it publicly. I'm sincerely enjoying the "meltdown" and welcome every right wing liar to say something bad about the man, especially to my face.

45. Amazing that Faux didn't "lose" audio during the interview..
Only during the times that Pres. Clinton was responding, of course.
I imagine their audio snippits of the interview will be edited to show Clinton only saying he didn't catch OBL will be played over and over and over, ad nausem.
I think he should challenge Wallace to cough up any video of Faux video of chimp's regime members being asked the same questions...of course, the regime response to any real questions in an interview would be only "terror, terror, terror, 9/11, 9/11, 9/11".

68. D'oh! Of course you're right
Still, it gives him a convenient out ("Hey, it wasn't my idea to ask the question, the viewers wanted me to") even though he was probably champing at the bit to ask just such a question to jump-start the spin machine in much the same way that on-air Fox hacks so frequently say things like, "People are saying _insert ridiculous right-wing assertion here_" without mentioning exactly who those mythical "people" are. By the time it gets out that the Fox interviewer was full of shit, it's a full news cycle later and the damage has already been done.

Bet Wallace didn't think he'd get his ass so thoroughly handed to him for asking it, though. ;)

35. Notice the body language, fellow Dem politicians
In the first of the three video clips, Chris Wallace poses his phony baloney propaganda question (call-ins, yeah right). Look at Clinton's face. It is like a storm gathering. Then he gets a look in his eyes (Kill, Bill!) and that's when you know it's all over for Chris Wallace.

Throughout the interview, Wallace, realizing he is being chopped to mincement, tries to stop Clinton but Clinton will not hear of it. In fact he moves forward in his seat (body language that says he is intensely involved and interested). He doesn't accord Wallace the floor, either, artfully turning the question back on him by stating, "You asked" and saying this is your question.

Talk about BODY LANGUAGE! -- Watch the very end again and look at that closing handshake. Look at how Clinton sits back and *accepts* the handshake offered by Chris but doesn't GIVE him much of his respect, his energy, doesn't lean forward AT ALL to actively return the handshake.
-- Way cool! :headbang:

I was never a huge Clinton fan but after seeing what the right wing tried to do to him I decided he can't be all bad.

The Big Dawg put that little right wing twerp in his place. It was a big gentle rottweiller staring down a snappy little press poodle that happened to piss him off.

That was really sweet. Poor 'lil Chris looked like he didn't know what hit him.

I think that the president showed remarkable restraint. The FAUX site is calling the interview "combative" and my local newscast just said much the same thing. Jerks.:grr:

56. god, i'm seething after that interview
what a fucking crock of SHIT that fuckwad wallace threw at him.

i can't believe clinton held back as much as he did. i would have wanted to knock that fucking smirk off his face... basically blaming clinton for 9/11.. it's just outrageous.

clinton attacked with fact and that shut that little beatty eyed fuck up -- fast.

72. Well, here's the FAUX News site, with a link on the Clinton story
to "respond to editor." I'm not real familiar with their site, LOL, so you might find a link there to e-mail Wallace directly. They seem real proud of that interview, since the video and the transcript are all over the place... They called it "combative.":grr: Excuse me, now I have to go and wash my hands...x(

76. Are you kidding? I LOVED it! This guy stuck his dick over the line
and Clinton sliced it the fuck off.

Immensely satisfying.

58. The freepers are trying to pretend the interview didn't happen
At least over on CU, not a single word about it. A clear sign that Wallace failed in his hatchet-job, and Bill knocked it out of the park.

73. FINALLY!!! I get to watch this
I was working all day. President Clinton barely shook that shmucks hand at the end and I don't blame him. He looked utterly disgusted. Faux noose is fucking pathetic and disgraceful. May God have mercy on their worthless souls.

I love Bill Clinton, always have and always will. I've seen him speak 5 times and I have been honored to shake his hand. No, he is not perfect but damn he's brilliant. No one is perfect.

79. "Brilliant" is exactly the word that I always use to describe him!
He certainly is that and, compared with the bunch of lying warmonger bastards we're stuck with, President Clinton looks pretty damn perfect to me...O8)

"Absolutely beautiful," my usual response, doesn't do it justice.

87. That was exactly my thought!
And "absolutely brilliant" was my first thought on seeing this!:wow: Certainly a far cry from what we have come to expect from our "squatter-in-chief..."x(

81. It brings joy to me heart that there wasn't one instant when
Clinton wasn't in total command of that interview.
Yes, absolute brilliance interspersed with some great
cut-to-the-chase statements...."It's a big load of hooey!"

84. We can only hope that Clinton gave the Dems running
this Nov. ammunition. Look at all the media attention we Dems finally got. Geeez, I love it.

bush on a Really good day couldn't express himself intelligently (sorry, using the word intelligent in the same sentence with bush is ridiculous).

bush did Nothing for 9 Months after being sworn in when it came to Osama and terrorism!! This fact has Not been made a Real Issue in the discussion of what bush thought was important when he took office.

9-11 and bush says it is of utmost importance to do something besides go to trial on these terrorist devils, "I" will get tough and conquer those devils." He hadn't a clue or cared about them prior as Clinton stated.

Now, on to torture, will our Dems in Congress show some guts and rant about this horrible issue?

weak on terror. I posted in another thread that Clinton
just may be the Dems October surprise!!!!!!
