Edited on Sun Sep-24-06 11:14 AM by Texas Explorer
Like george and felix?

:sarcasm:

No...actually, I will despair for our troops that are captured and used as examples of America's torture policy.

Stand by for videos as gruesome as the beheadings...if not more so.

12. suffer a "nervous collapse"
I fully expect to break down

I'm not cut out to endure the acceptance of such outrages

I'm really not

I had a "break down" during Rwanda. My poor husband was so afraid I was going to do "something stupid"..I remember him watching me..as I sat glued to the images of bodies floating down the river and crying...unable to sleep, eat...shower..refusing to be drawn away...I had to see...I had to know what humans were doing to other humans. Even as I died inside, I had to know

I had to seek help. My mind couldn't deal with it.

And I can't pull away now..I can't stop now...even as I'm die a little more inside

18. end up on the torture list after they're done with immigrants
first they tortured the armed combatants because they were not really POWs

then they tortured the foreigners that were kept in secret prisons because they might be terrorists

you know that anti-war activists aren't too far down the list - probably right after the undocumented immigrants

no, I'm not just kidding

Bring the troops home now

24. The best possible response is to join Amnesty International,
preferably as a contributing member. (I give £25 a month, but I know there are smaller increments.) Get their action alerts, and act on them by writing letters to the relevant authorities. Amnesty works.

31. Do the same futile things I've always done since
these people have taken power. Email, write, call and complain, and support goups that attempt to protect and defend constitutional rights. The only things outside of trying and working to get representatives to listen is rebellion. So I do these ineffective things because I'm too much of a coward and have the responsibility to my family not to endanger them to actually engage in open rebellion. I may leave, who knows?

are prosecuted along with the rest of the war criminals. Admittedly, my "power" is pretty limited...but if enough of us can get the rest of us to see the light, well, they've got the guns but we've got the numbers, so to speak.
