Elizabeth Kucinich completes her walk for peace in Cleveland

Elizabeth writes, "I have been working to engage student, community, inter-faith, women's, environment, and peace groups in a coalition for peace and sustainability. My walk has been in support of Dennis's bill to create a cabinet-level Department of Peace and Nonviolence, H.R. 3760, an initiative that now has the support of 74 members of Congress.

"The very nature of all life at every stage on this planet is dramatically impacted by violence. Domestically, the Department of Peace will develop policies and allocate resources to effectively reduce the levels of domestic and gang violence, child abuse, and various other forms of social discord. Internationally, the Department of Peace will advise the President and Congress on the most sophisticated techniques to resolve conflict, while simultaneously examining the root causes of violence in order to prevent future wars.

"In this moment, we are called to act with integrity in the name of the environment, unity, prosperity, and peace. That is what this walk has been all about. It has been an important experience. From it, I have seen confirmed the striving for peace of many people at so many different levels of our community."-snip-

1. She's great
I wanted to walk with her, but too busy with work. Maybe she'll do it again.
