Where is the moral outrage by Christians against torture?
Is there any scripture by Christ that allows this abuse?

Why aren't James Dobson, Tony Perkins, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, et al yelling about the Bush policy to allow torture.

They are silent.

2. Ah, but some of the best torturing in human history was done under the
auspices of Christianity, the Inquisition. So churches certainly provide no immunity against this sickness.

6. the church was responsible for the inquisition....I can't imagine..
...would ever countenance torture....with his rhetoric about turn the other cheek, love your enemies, forgiving 70 times seven....actually stopping torture by coming to the aid of the woman who was about to be stoned...."let he among you who is without sin..."

3. Why would they speak out against it?
Why aren't James Dobson, Tony Perkins, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, et al yelling about the Bush policy to allow torture.

The torture is being conducted on Muslims of Middle Eastern nationalities. As far as those jerks are concerned the people being tortured deserve everything they get for the "sin" of not being White Christians.

4. The people you cite follow the doctrine of the divine dollar.
It has nothing to do with "the golden rule" anymore.

5. Torture Means Never Having to Say You're Sorry
Why would evangelical Christians oppose torture of infidels?

Did anyone challenge the Inquisition? Burning at the stake? The Salem witch trials?

The beauty of being a evangelical Christian when your country is torturing Muslims: "Torture means never having to say you're sorry."

12. All over the place
The majority of those protesting against it are Christians, by a considerable margin.

Don't confuse "there are Christians who aren't protesting" with "Christians aren't protesting".

From the DU Rules...

"With regard to religion (or the lack thereof), Democratic Underground is a diverse community which includes Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Atheists, Agnostics, and others. . . For this reason, we expect members to make an extra effort to be sensitive to different religious beliefs, and to show respect to members who hold different religious beliefs. . . . As a general rule, discussions about ideas are usually permitted, but broad-brush bigoted statements about groups of people — either religious or non-religious — are not."
