3. I 've lived here for about 15 years looking to move as soon as possible
Edited on Sat Sep-23-06 08:14 PM by noahmijo
I don't recall it ever being anything than a redneck ridden scumhole. Another one of those towns where when someone announces that they are moving everyone looks at the person with envy. A college education is more of a liability here when applying for a job than if you check "Yes" under a question asking if you are a felon. Only reason I still live here is because I can't afford to get out just yet. I would still hold a grudge against my parents for moving me out here from the east coast if it weren't for the fact that I met my soulmate here (who incidently was dragged here against her will as well but from Seattle) and she can't wait to get out of here either

11. why is it bad?
i stayed there in a hotel on holiday, and the warm hot tub in the desert night was alleuring,
but i only ever saw it in its redneck phase, if that's what seemse to have happened to it,
like albuquerque, unless you're connected with big job/money or retirement bilk from back east,
a place of financial minimalism.

The asshole invasion from texas, could drive the good hearted folks to more temperate climes.

Good luck to your leaving, but i'm very interested in your honest economic analysis about
what is failed in tucson... as it seems like a desert-sunbelt sickness, low pay and lots of
immigrants and migrants, malls and retail banks, gas stations, golf courses and nursing homes,
where the poor wait on the rich in desert health. Perhaps the cities like pheonix have
grown too fast and dumped their spillage over the sacred desert.

Maybe its just overpopulation and a desert that does not rain enough to cleanse itself of
the new dystopia, and unable to wash off, toxically nurturing exotic human cactii.

2. I love the one about how many terrorist acts were committed by Christians?
Hmm...let's see. The Oklahoma City bombing, the bombing of the Olympics in 1996, numerous foiled right wing militia terrorist plots, bombings of abortion clinics and the murder of doctors, David Koresh, ect. And if we're going to go back in history, how about:

The genocide of Native Americans
Burning of "witches" in Europe and North America
The crusades
The church cozying up with the Nazis during the second world war.

And let's not forget, the Iraq War. Remember that God told Bush to attack Saddam. More people have died in this war than all muslim terrorist attacks combined.

6. You left out the hanging of Quakers by the Puritans.
People tend to overlook that.

9. When I started at the the U of A in 1944
Tucson had a population of 38,000 people. It was an ideal small city then but times have sure changed and I wouldn't move back there if they paid me.

10. The Press Herald's site in Maine gets stormed by right wingers
Edited on Sat Sep-23-06 09:24 PM by high density
constantly. I don't know why they have the comment sections, because all it seems to do is bring out every rightwinger there is. I'm getting quite tired of the insane f--ks who are polluting news sites and non-political forums with right wing nonsense.
