I was just watching Christiane Amanpour dicussing the Clinton
initiative and everyone seemed to answer the questions that were put to them honestly except for the Bush administration's representative. Habib (sp) Powell, was asked a question - I forget the exact question now- and she proceeded to completely go in a different direction with her answer and it struck me how much in lock step everyone in the Bush administration is. Clinton, when asked a question that is uncomfortable (like the Fox Wallace interview), just wades right in, taking responsibility when it is warranted.

1. Yes, I saw that.
Everyone else was trying to give thoughtful answers, then here comes the assistant secretary of state, or whatever she was, rattling off Bush administration talking points. I was waiting for someone in the audience to laugh when she mentioned the purple fingers of freedom, or whatever she called them.

Good God. Are they all robots programmed to spew the same crap over in the Bush administration?? Can't they think for themselves?

3. Maybe she just got out of a session where they hooked her
up and gave her a jolt of the latest programs - transferred by electricity or the latest safe laser transfer - or hynotism or some fancy new psyop invention?

4. Clearly she needs to be tortured to keep America safe
She lying in public and purposely misrepresenting the U.S. government, just as a terrorist would. This raises the very serious question of what country she is really working for.

As soon as my legal team finishes "legalizing" the new camp, all such people who threaten America in such a way will be indefinitely detained and interrogated using only approved methods of interrogation.

7. She went into a long story about a rabbi, a saudi cleric and a catholic
all meeting together and discussing life. I could just picture Karl Rove writing it down and slipping the story into her briefing book.

Really - I'm sure at some point Bush has managed to get a Saudi cleric, an Israeli Rabbi and an American Catholic together in the same room. And I'm sure it is the policy or micro-policy that Bush is most proud of. But it was no answer to the question posed to her which was "what about the mid east?". It wasn't an annecdote. Not an answer.
