Arnold gives up his Hummers
SCHWARZENEGGER GIVES UP HUMMERS

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER has ditched his beloved $950,000 (GBP500,000) fleet of Hummer cars in a bid to save the environment. The TERMINATOR movie star-turned-California governor is devoted to the sport utility vehicles for their "precision". He was the first person to own one of cars in 1992 after persuading manufacturers to make them for non-army purposes. But Hummers emit three times more carbon dioxide than a regular car - and after the State of California announced it was suing carmakers Toyota, Nissan, Ford, Honda, Chrysler and General Motors over greenhouse gas emissions, ex movie star Schwarzenegger felt it was prudent to make the change. Eco-aware campaigner AL GORE confirms, "Arnie has given up his Hummers."

3. my thought exactly.
sheesh.
Then again, his wife's facial skin has been so stretched that I doubt she can open her mouth wide enough.

Curious fact:
conservative GOP men are 3 times more likely to get plastic surgery than liberals. And more likely to ditch their original wives for a new, improved and extraordinarily younger model.

4. Wow!!1 He really REALLY *is* pro-environment!!!1
When he guested on O'LOOFAH's circus, e-mailers accused O'LOOFAH of being too easy on him. O'LOOFAH countered by saying that he had given Governor SNITZEL heck about owning Hummers on the grounds of the Environment. This is the same as how O'LOOFAH claims he is an Independent, that he has TWO---------TWO!!!1------issues he actually DISAGREES with wingnuts about: 1) the death penalty and 2) the Environment. HaHAH!!1

6. Isn't he's just passing the buck?
Are these vehicles being removed from the road (crushed/cut/destroyed/scrapped), or is he just washing his hands of the political fallout by selling them to another 'small penis' driver?

7. Given how Governor Groper invented the damn things,
why didn't he put more input into the design beforehand?

Especially given the cost of the vehicle, which goes back into the R&D work.

11. We wouldn't even have Hummers if it wasn't for Ah-nold
Edited on Sat Sep-23-06 12:38 PM by Downtown Hound
Even though he's decided to ditch them finally, we're now left with a legacy of oversized, small-dicked, aggressive morons on the road polluting the air because Ah-nold decided he wanted to pretend he was a tough guy in the military like all of his movies. Fuck him.

I see so many Hummers around where I live. They make me sick. My roommate was walking through a parking lot one time with a friend and they passed by a parked Hummer with the driver behind the wheel about to pull out. His friend said out loud, "I have a real problem with these cars." The Hummer driver then proceeded to try and run the two of them over. Had they not jumped out of the way he would have succeeded. That's the type of asshole that drives a Hummer.

12. Funny is how the Hummer H3s look so much like the original Hummers
Proving that the automaker knows exactly how to execute a branding campaign to manipulate the marching moron buyers.

13. What a two faced asshole.
If he were so concerned about the environment he wouldn't have bought them in the first place. I believe I also saw him in Hummer ads at one time. He can't claim he didn't know because the environmental damage from Hummers was well known when they first came out in the market. Also, they take up two parking spaces in a place where parking is at a premium. It's a good thing I don't live in LA anymore because I think I would be tempted to let the air out of the tires of every Hummer I saw taking up two parking spaces.

14. Letting the air out of the tires is a wasted act of vandalism
Those white elephants have an optional air-inflater kit - I kid you not!

15. I know. In Los Angeles there would be too many witnesses
anyway so it wouldn't happen. :-) I would enjoy thinking about it though.

19. Oh yes
He admitted this years ago on the Arsenio Hall show, if you remember that show. I watched it at the time. He essentially called the military and told them that he wanted one, and after some arm twisting got them to sell him one. Ever notice how Arnold's Hummer is closer to the actual military version than the civilian ones we see now? It created so much publicity, (like the Arsenio Hall show) that eventually they decided to make a civilian model for the general public.
