Here’s my theory on the “bin Laden’s dead” story…

The two most damning pieces of evidence that the “war on Terror" is phony are:

1.) Osama remains free
2.) Pakistan, the current HQ of al Qaeda and point of origin of just about every recent terror incident, not only is not attacked, but is also given billion dollar grants.

Now, as long as bin Laden was alive, all Rove could do was to keep both out of the news. But bin Laden’s health is poor. Late this summer, he kicks the bucket and a plan is hatched:

1.) Rumors are leaked that Pakistan was intimidated immediately after 9/11
2.) Pakistan launches another October offensive against al Qaeda
3.) Bin Laden’s body is retrieved from a bombed-out cave
4.) We learn that it was Bush that pressured Musharraf into the operation during his Sept. 22nd visit.

And voila, Rove gets his October surprise and Musharraf is off the hook. But the French have other ideas, and they leak that Bin Laden has died of natural causes.

7. That Bin Laden "dies from typhoid" seems like such a "wag the dog"

cover story. I don't think the French created that story - they simply "intercepted" it (which the CIA probably made sure of).

Dying from a disease is a non-violent death - it's easy to fake. No bombs go off near your asset (OBL). No accidents happen - no cover actions for the cover story need take place which could endanger your asset. All you have to do is say he died of disease X (in this case, typhoid, a disease common in pakistan).

So they simply whisk him off to some safe house for a few months - give him a make over (including cosmetic surgery) and the "Osama bin Laden" we all knew of is officially dead. The man formerlly known as Osama gets a new identity, a huge bank account, and lives happily ever after.

8. I just saw an article in which Chirac denies that report.....

..he says there is no evidence that proves bin Laden is dead.

PARIS - President Jacques Chirac said Saturday that information contained in a leaked intelligence document raising the possibility that Osama bin Laden may have died of typhoid in Pakistan last month is “in no way whatsoever confirmed.”

Chirac said he was “a bit surprised” at the leak and has asked Defense Minister Michele Alliot-Marie to probe how a document from a French foreign intelligence service was published in the French press.

12. A French newspaper announced in 2001 that bin Laden was in a hospital in

Dubai due to illness two months prior to 9/11, and that the CIA knew of it and was there. That was quickly covered up or "debunked" by the U.S.


And it has never been proven that bin Laden had ANYTHING to do with 9/11. I doubt Bushco would ever want him to be found "alive". And that goes for any and all 'al qaeda' leaders. It'a all bogus.
And now they're purportedly in Iraq. They are the phantom enemy.

According to Bush, he doesn't think about him, he's not the war on terror, he's just not that important. According to Coulter, he's irrelevent, a fading movie star. I hope if he is dead and they try to use this to boost their numbers that it gets thrown back in their faces.
