safely and quickly? I'd hate to be outwardly brimming with confidence but I smell a massive blue midterm wave. If not, I will blame diebold.

1. I wouldn't be so sure of that
Just read this recent post. This friend of a member of the DU doesn't sound like she will be voting blue.

4. See your point but then again, that lady's brother is in the Air Force.
He is not on the ground subject to IEDs and snipers. I jus can't see loved ones of grunts and national guardsmen (and women) voting red. I have been wrong before though.

3. Too many are swelled with the pride
of serving their country in the war against terra, they will self delude to avoid the obvious complacency in the death of so many including their own.

And diebold's upcoming treason is a given.

6. My Republican parents were all for the Vietnam war up to the bitter end

Even though I would have been drafted if the draft hadn't ended in 1973. They would have been proud (actually damn proud) to have had a son (me) die like a dog face down in some rice paddy on the other side of the world for nothing.

And that was after over 50,000 American soldiers had already been killed there.

Nixon was their hero and to this day they think he got a bad deal. So I am not so sure about your theory.

7. I'm sure some will, but some will feel it's their duty to support Bush
I've seen that attitude firsthand from relatives of husbands and sons in Iraq.
