Idiot Son believes the First Amendment is a "custom"
and not the LAW:

"There's a custom in our country for people to express themselves and it's good. "

4. I just called Feinstein and Boxer's office.
They had't heard this sound bite in the way we did.

So, PLEASE CALL THEM. CALL THEM.

There is so much going on, this important thing will just go under the radar.

Don't let them GET AWAY WITH THAT!

6. With all the domestic spying from various and sundry agencies
that is going on. Expressing yourself won't be the "custom" or even safe much longer.

9. To Bill Nelson (D-FL)
Dear Senator Nelson,

I was appalled when I heard President Bush essentially label a portion of the First Amendment of the U.S. Constitution as "a custom." Surely I heard incorrectly.

Yet the transcript published at CNN.com confirmed my worst fears. Our president views the right to free speech as a custom. That has alarming implications from an executive who seems intent on drastically expanding his powers to the point they are dictatorial.

Bush said, "There's a custom in our country for people to express themselves and it's good. It's what makes us a great country, that people can stand up and tell people what's on their mind. And we're going keep it that way. It's very important for those who didn't agree with the decision, though, to understand the consequences of success in Iraq."

He has already proven his desire to stifle dissent by segregating protestors and requiring loyalty oaths at his appearances. Please encourage your fellow legislators to stand up to his tyranny. Enough is enough!

Regards,
-----

21.  Because it's in the Bible.
And THAT'S WHY we have to call him out on everything. Because the cumulative effect of his drivel really does erode the little that many people know about our system of government.

19. Has this been a day from hell or what?
If I call Nancy Pelosi's office one more time, she may get a restraining order. But, I don't see any other way through this than just persisting.

24. To protect the Constitution of the United States against all enemies
foreign and domestic.

I swore an oath to that back in 91 and still hold to that oath even though I am not in uniform. If ever there was a domestic threat to the Constitution it has been with this administration. This administration better be going down soon. Will give Boxer / Feinstein a call too!
