Can anyone imagine a scenario where this might happen? Maybe because they see that we don't have the troops to start another war, maybe because they are concerned about being labeled as war criminals by the international community, maybe because of legitimate moral concerns. I honestly didn't think Bush would start a war with Iran, but now I don't know. I would love to see the military stand up to him.

2. I don't see how we COULD, with no troops left.
But hey, he doesn't care about logistics, or soldiers for that matter. Who knows? Personally I suspect somethin's a'brewin' with The Cabal with regard to Iran.

4. They would have to fight with the army they have, not the one they
may wish they had.

7. Never happen
The time for that was pre-Iraq, the few Generals who might have done it have either left or been pushed out one by one since then and replaced with people who say yes. The brass tried making some noises a few months ago about the idea of attacking Iran but that died out fairly fast and I don't expect them to stand up now in any way that matters. Just the retired ones who it's safe for.

Unless it's in mass it'll make no difference anyway since they'll be replaced and we just don't have the people in power today with what it takes to stand up and take the chance of doing it alone. If we don't attack it'll probably be more because we don't have the power to back it up than because someone stopped him. With the shape our reserves are in today thats still possible I hope, that reality sets in and someone realizes they just can't accomplish anything, that we can't do it from the air alone and don't have the troops to spare for a ground invasion.

8. If the Commander in Chief gave the order, then to not carry it out
would be what in smaller countries call a COUP.

9. Actually, it would be far more effective if all of the soldiers said NO!
