Because we "dare" to criticize the "boy king" it emboldens other people to attack this country - verbally and physically.

And then they're trying to tie Chavez to terrorists and being anti-American. I was trying to figure out why the Repubs and the mainstream media are going on and on about it. It's all about the old "us vs. them."

You know the minute the Repubs beat something to death that they figure it's going to benefit them somehow.

Sure enough - they're demonizing Tom Harkin for being a "Chavez supporter" (somehow they tie this to Chavez being a "socialist," etc.

It's another way for them to further drive a wedge between the Reps and Dems.

Of course, this all could backfire because people are talking about how Chavez is giving away heating oil to the poor.

1. Is that why the Democrats are the only ones chastising Chavez?
That would be my response to anyone with the idea that the Democrats are to blame.

2. On C-Span someone brought that up and the caller said "It's politics
on the Dems part. If they wouldn't have been criticizing Bush to begin with Chavez wouldn't have felt that he could say those things."

3. They're gonna link Democrats with Chavez no matter what...
Agree with him for calling * "the devil," and you're in the shredder.

Or, the very fact that Chavez felt bold enough to call * "the devil" is the Democrats' fault, since anyone brazen enough to criticize the emperor has merely followed the lead of the Democrats. Again, into the shredder.

It's like all the "blame Clinton" crap -- out-and-out lies and excuses, but once the poop is flung, the corporate media starts repeating it. :grr:
