<snip>

Pakistani President Pervez Musharraf said this week a U.S. official warned his country in 2001 that America would bomb Pakistan "back to the Stone Age" if it did not cooperate with the campaign against the Taliban in Afghanistan.

"The first I've heard of this is when I read it in the newspaper today," Bush said as he stood next to Musharraf at a news conference. "I guess I was taken aback by the harshness of the words."

a) Bush reads?
b) He reads out loud, so he can "hear" the words
c) Some one reads to him, so he can "hear" the words
d) Bush is lying

2. I thought he didn't read newspapers - his staff did it for him?
He can't even tell the truth about little things. Even Pinnochio would be disgusted.

6. Did you hear Musharraf reply to the question?
It was even more pathetic. Claimed he couldn't comment as it would violate the terms of his book deal for his forthcoming book. All of the reporters laughed but no one called him on it.

18. C'Mon... This Idiot KNEW About This All Along.... He Just Plays
STUPID! Yes, of course he isn't the brightest bulb, but there's NO WAY he wasn't told of this before. I realize he still has the "wind-up" key inserted in his back, but playing innocent or out of the loop, lost it's luster for me a VERY LONG TIME ago.

Too bad so many others haven't gotten wise to this ploy he uses! They put him in office for a reason, and most of it was because they knew as long as they let him perceive himself as the Harry Hot Shit, he would go along with anything they said! And he does, but he KNOWS what is going on!

LIAR, LIAR, Pants On Fire is my TRUTH about This Menace To Society!! Letting him "think" he's THE DECIDER is about as deep as it gets for him... as long as he doesn't have to pay the piper he let's them wind him up every morning. I think they have cranked him up tighter than usual, but hey they've perfected how to manipulate this ROBOT! They've had more than enough time to perfect their fine tuning of him and many others!!

He's not interested at all in
which of his "officials" made this threat? Apparently he agrees with the threat, but just not with the "harshness" of it.

8. Actually I can believe that. Bush probably told said aide, "Tell those
effin Pakis we will burn their asses if they don't cooperate." and the aide took it from there. Bush probably did not "hear" those actual words. This presidentin is mighty fun, ain't it?

10. "Musharraf ... could not comment because of a book deal"!!!
Also, little Mr Butter Wouldnt Melt In His Mouth Armitage was the
one Musharraf said told him the US would bomb him back to the Stone Age.

"The Pakistani leader had told the CBS program "60 Minutes" that the threat came from then-Deputy Secretary of State Richard Armitage but Armitage has since denied making such a warning."

15. Armitage made a non-denial denial.
Edited on Fri Sep-22-06 10:40 AM by Jim__
From the CBS News story: "Armitage disputes the language but doesn't deny that the message was strong."

17. "I was just shooting the breeze with him & may have mentioned
that we would bomb the fuck out of Pakistan if they didn't
help us on our quest for democracy, but I don't believe I
brought up the Stone Age. I might have mentioned the Iron Age."

13. Well, who could have possibly predicted such a thing could happen?
I mean, he's just the pResident. You don't really expect him to know what's going on in his country, with his military, do you?

The Emperor has no clothes. Nor does he have a brain.

19. BUSH READS 5 YEAR OLD NEWSPAPERS? No wonder he's so
frigging out of touch. CHECK THE DATE on this story:

Bush finalises battle plan
(Filed: 16/09/2001)

AMERICA was last night assembling the biggest military strike force since the Gulf War as President Bush issued an ultimatum to Pakistan to back allied action or run the risk of being bombed.

In his bluntest terms yet, Mr Bush made clear that the United States was about to launch a sustained offensive against Osama bin Laden and his terror camps in Afghanistan.
