I hope this gets out there into the CT media – the chairman of the fund that is funding the defense of the disgraced Scooter Libby holds a big fundraiser for Joe Lieberman:

U.S. Sen. Joseph I. Lieberman on Wednesday attended a fundraiser in Florida organized by a former finance chairman of the Republican National Committee, a top aide to the senator confirmed.

Lieberman's communications director, Dan Gerstein, said the reception held at Mel Sembler's St. Petersburg offices - where guests were asked to contribute a minimum of $1,000 to the three-term incumbent's battle against Greenwich Democrat Ned Lamont - went like "gangbusters."

About 100 people attended the event, according to Reuters news service, which reported that it was closed to reporters.

Sembler headed the RNC's finance committee from 1994 to 2000. President Bush named him as ambassador to Italy in 2001, a post he held until last year.

I think we need to do all we can to make this public: LTTE's, forwarding info to local columnists and reporters. And I think the MSM just might report it in their news stories if the Lamont campaign brings it up. I mean, they (mis)reported on Lamont's 1998 e-mail to Lieberman, right?

I just had one published in this newspaper - but, they have been pretty liberal from what I can tell.

They prefer LONG letters - 350-500 words.

I'll be happy to give you my input/editing suggestions as well.

It's not in my area, so I'm not sure they would accept something from me.

The Manchester paper is fairly widely circulated in Eastern CT (mainly eastern Hartford Cty and wealthy Tolland Cty), plus it's sold in Hartford. I have not seen the Day in the Hartford area.
