Will the Democratic Party stand up for Human Rights?
Will our leaders finally find the courage to take a stand?

For the past few weeks the Democratic Party leadership has stood to the side and allowed a few Republicans to fight against the criminal bush cabal's campaign to scrap the geneva convention, to legalize torture, to abolish habeaus corpus, and to establish secret tribunals to try and execute detainees. Perhaps this was good strategy while there was a Republican opposition. My opinion is that you do not strategize yourself into compromising fundamental human rights, but that is just my opinion.

That game is now over. The Republican opposition to the legalization of war crimes is gone, they have folded like a cheap suit. The question that remains is do we actually have an opposition party in this country, or do we have two halves of one party, the ruling party? Will the Democratic Party stand for human rights? If it does not, is there really an opposition party?

2. We can always hope
But don't hold your breath, because I truly do not think that they have the courage, with the exception of a few who will be silienced by the leadership.

3. I will be stunned.
But perhaps they will find a spine they can borrow for a few hours.
