Map of USA - Bush Approval 9/19/2006
Edited on Fri Sep-22-06 05:50 AM by sazemisery
I prepared this map:

from this survey:
http://www.surveyusa.com/50State2006/50StateBushApproval060919State.htm

Black = majority approval for Bush
White = majority disapproval for Bush
Gray = Tie
600 adults age 18+ in each of the 50 states were interviewed by SurveyUSA 9/14/06 to 9/17/06. You must credit SurveyUSA and the media sponsor if you broadcast, print, or cite these results in whole or part.

What a change from 2000

Can someone colorize it for me? (need to get something besides MS paint, huh?)

6. The Devil Is In The Details
A very nice job. But the real story is underneath those numbers...in states where the 50 state strategy is starting to take root.

The number of defections of Repugnican in Kansas continues, Tester & Schweizer are turning the big skies very blue as well as some surprising gains in places like Idaho and even Wyoming. Rome wasn't built in a day and these changes are just the start...I expect the Inter-Mountain region to be wide open in 2008 and could get bluer and bluer after that.

We're starting to see a re-alignment...not unlike the shift in the 60s that merged the South with the West...with the GOOP only having its strength in the South and "racist" west...like Utah. The combination of Democrats from the coasts moving into the region as well as growing Hispanic population mean good things to come if we do things right.

Again...very nice work. Hopefully you can get a copy of Paint Shop Pro...that'd do a nice job in coloring it for ya.

10. Urbanization Is Changing Things
Look for Nevada to turn very blue in 2008...now that a majority of the votes come from the Las Vegas area and the growth there has been a combination of "snowbirds" from the east and Hispanics. The same goes for Arizona as Phoenix and Tucson continue to expand...as is the case with the growing Denver/Boulder area. We'll see situations similar to what we do in Oregon and Washington where the Repugnicans are in the hinterlands and will nominate right wing nuts who will get trounced by the large urban votes in the general election.

8. My MS Paint has no problem doing colors. Check your settings.
Actually MS Paint is crap for converting red to jpegs. But the rest of the spectrum is does an acceptably comprehensible, if unaesthetic, job.

16. The saddest part is, is that they are failing this country.
And not even telling people why. Being told to 'have faith' isn't working so well anymore.
