Too many Chavez Threads; not enough Election 2006 Threads at DU!
Come on.....let's all get back to work, fore it's too late.

Chavez ain't gonna win congress for us, and he ain't gonna stop Bush when the shit gets really crazy if we don't rein Bush in. Hell, if he had that much "problem" with Bush, he'd stop selling us his oil...which apparently he hasn't.

So let's concentrate on what's important....and not let the Corporate Media pay us a visit here at DU and by checking the headlines, understanding that we can be divided on some shit...that in the end doesn't even really matter.

Sooooooooooooooo

The polls are looking good for us, it appears! We may have an easier time taking back the senate than the house....but if we play our cards right, we could get them both! Wouldn't that be the BOMB?

Finally.....I've been waiting for so doggone long!

Please post polls on important races...

PS. In California, Arnuld looks like he's gonna have an easy time. Last poll I saw was 57% to 35% for Angelitis! :(

4. Well, Angeletis is like white bread with glasses...which is why
although I like him well enough, I voted for his opponent in the Dem primary...cause I always look at who can win in the big General election picture....cause in the end, that's the election that counts.

Angeletis really does not have much of a personality that comes through, and considering how big the state is, you have to have "something" to actually get your message across...since most of what folks will see is on their Teevee.

I met him and his family at my church during the primaries....and he just is not memorable; unfortunately. I'm in Northern California so it's not as bad...but in Southern Cal in particular; land of the "stars"...don't like the type that he seems to represent--Bookish and studious and somewhat lackluster.

We had Arnuld at our church (Barbara's Lee's church too) a couple of week-ends ago (I stayed home)cause the Pastor said that Arnuld had called him personally and asked if he could come. Lotsa media, etc. I asked the pastor about Angeletis, and he said that he hadn't heard a thing from him since he won the primaries...so I don't know.

There is a hard hitting commercial on the Teevee against Arnuld....but Angeletis is nowhere in it, so it just makes Arnuld look bad, but makes Angeletis look invisible. I don't know which is worse, frankly. :(

6. Hallelujah! We are SIX WEEKS OUT, DUers!
Work like hell for the next six weeks, and we might actually get that chance to speak truth to power.

Election Season is upon us... and raging.

7. What races are you tracking closely? Any in particular?
I'm liking that Clare McCaskill over there in Missouri! Would be great to have a Dem from MO again! :)

8. You got that right
Two little boys playing spitball in the school yard. Who cares. Much more important things to worry about for sure.

10. Can't people around here multi-task? :)
Seriously, every other day I am told Rove is trying to "distract" me, when the fact is I *can* pay attention to more than one story at a time! :hi:

11. Some can, some can't
Every hour wasted pontificating about Chavez or whatever the outrage-of-the-moment is could be better spent helping a campaign.

I think that's all we're tryin' to say here. :hi:

Peace--
Julie
