TN Senate race - Ford TV ads KICK ASS!!!!

Frankly, Harold Ford was never my first choice and I disagree with him on several issues. However, this is Tennessee and we're talking about a replacement for Cat-killer Frist.

BUT, if you want to see a Dem who knows how to fight against Repuke attacks, you should see some of the Ford TV ads. He is tearing Corker a new one.

Example, after Corker's first attack ad, Ford is filmed insid a church and says "I started church the old-fashioned, I was forced to. (smile) And I'm better for it. Here I learned Right from Wrong, and Bob Corker is doing wrong" (Smack!)

He points out that Corker smeared his opponents, "Two good men". in the primary. (Smack!)

He then quickly refutes Corker's smear statements ("I voted for..." etc.) (Smack, Smack, Bitch-slap!)
He finally ends with "I approve this message, because I WON'T LET THEM CHANGE WHO I AM! (Left-hook, Right-cross, KO!!!!!)

He has some other good ads about education, etc. While Corker has some pretty lame anti-immigration ads (oh, the latest Ford ad points out how Corker - a Real Estate developer - had a project raided for hiring illegal workers. After which Ford says that we should get tough on "employers who break the law." OUCH!).

Like I said, I don't agree with Ford on several issues, but I agree with him on a lot more than Frist or Corker. And he knows how to FIGHT! Go Harold! TN will go BLUE in November!

Which is exactly what some Democratic candidates are afraid to do, defend themselves. The GOP attacks and they don't fight back, but Ford is one person who is doing that.

that we in TN can hope for in the current climate. However, a lot of Dems could a lot from him as far as countering the RW smear machine. Pay attention, people!

His appearance on Imus really hurt him with a lot of people.

A simple apology to Howard Dean for inferring he was not as good a Christian as Ford, and for saying he did not want him to come to TN...would be a nice gesture.

That really turned off many people, and it is not healing. Especially since he laughed when he said it.

Wow, Ford needs to pull his head out of his butt and take a good look at all the powerful things Dean has done for the Dem party.

Anyone who judges whether or not someone else is as good a Christian, has already proven themselves to be not as good a Christian as the other. Judge not.

Again, I would prefer Rosalind Kurita, but I'll take Ford over Frist any day. And my point is that he is running a hell of a campaign. I want Dems to take control of the Senate. And Ford's campaign is running circles around Corker's.

After we get some checks and balance back in our government, then we can talk about how effective those checks are and, hopefully, do something about it. But we can't do anything until we get those checks and balances back.

I was never a Yellow Dog Democrat before, but I am in 2006 - by God!

I'm guessing that if Ford criticized Dean's Christianity, he was probably pandering to the TN fundies. Remember, TN is the buckle of the Bible Belt. I abhor pandering, and I'm sure that I'll be writing lots of nasty letters to Ford at some time in the future. But, right now, we need to work together so that my nasty letters will be going to Ford, instead of the even nastier letters I will have to be write to (shudder) Corker.

I'd rather not post it. I guess I should not have mentioned it. But you know what? This party holds Howard Dean responsible for every word he utters...if he misspeaks they jump all over him.

I try to forget this happened, but it is hard. If Dean is to be held accountable for every word, then others should be as well.
