Nor did I miss Boston Legal or Dancing with the Stars.

I hope that others have turned off ABC and will boycott Disney and Touchstone movies.

1. not boycotting because of Extreme Makeover, Home Edition
but I swear not to shop at Sears.

CSI has always kicked butt by the way, CSI NY and Miami, not so much. You should catch the old shows on re-runs, lots of backstory to the characters.

2. Had to break down for Boston Legal. I think that's the only ABC
show I ever did watch! They are sort of at the bottom, I think

3. Know what, I don't have a Ratings box so a boycott isn't counted
But as with FAUX Views, I have blocked the channel on my TV's. Fuck ABC, traitors to America. This old man has NO intention of ever watching their shit again.

9. how does it count?
Solidarity, I suppose, and perhaps some momentum for the boycott.

14. I did but the end escaped my addled, ABC-show-addicted mind!
I have ABC blocked and agree that I should block Fox shows but at least I don't watch any of their news.

Actually, I get a perverse charge from watching the trash on Fox and knowing how hypocritical it makes them--pandering to the right with their news and commentary shows and pandering to our basest instincts with their other shows.

5. CSI? My crass, self-appointed analysis
Edited on Thu Sep-21-06 09:44 PM by StClone
I really must differ and watch Boston Legal.

As for CSI, I can not stomach the super-serious swirling busybodies and studly automatons solving crimes with super-duper sluethery and techno wizardry that hardly is the standard in any crime investigation bureau. Blood and guts crime scenes become blase stages for CSI's team of perspicacious beautiful nerds. It's all so staged as hard as they try every angle to make it appear not so.

BL is actually a spoof on all serious serial dramas and often does vignettes I consider anti-Corporate. For whatever reason ABC allows such, I watch it and let ABC know I watch it for that very reason.

15. I shut my eyes during the gory scenes on CSI
I do miss BL so much and enjoyed their political jabs, but I love my country more.

Studio 60 on Sunset Strip (hope I got the title right) is also clever and smart and makes a lot of jabs.

13. How can people be so attached to TV?
I saw three episodes of CSI on a flight once. The first was mildly interesting, but by the third episode the show had become predictable and boring to me. That was one of the only times I watched any TV show in the last 8 years. It's hard enough for me to sit through a movie when there are so many more interactive forms of entertainment available... like DU.

17. I go through phases. For years I only watched select PBS shows--
Nova, Now, etc.

When my mom was dying of cancer and I was her primary caregiver and sat for hours for months by her hospital bed, I got hooked on TV again. Then just as I was weaning myself of all but the PBS shows and TDS and Colbert, my Dad came down with terminal cancer and once again I was the primary care giver and once again I got re-hooked. Dad died almost a year ago and I guess I'll get partially unhooked again. Thank you Disney/ABC!
