2. Read Noam Chomsky, too.
Writes about lots of things on ZNet.

ZNet archives an impressive collection of his articles, books, audio, interviews, debates and discussions, letters and posts. Any chance to experience Chomsky is welcome. Thanks for giving me two new links. :hi:

3. DUers should read
his 1970 book which was reprinted several times most recently in 2003 - For Reasons of State. That's a classic. The NYT described him as "An Explorer of Received Truths'.

4. Definately read him, it's easier to read him.
I love the guy, but ever try to stay awake during one of his lectures?

6. www.chomsky.info & www.chomskytorrents.org
Edited on Thu Sep-21-06 08:17 PM by personman
www.chomsky.info is sort of his official unofficial archive I think, and www.chomskytorrents.org has a lot of Chomsky, Chavez, Palast, and other documentaries and media.

If Chomsky interests you, you might be interested in another fellow libertarian-socialist, Howard Zinn. Probably most known for "A People's History of the United States" and "Voices of a People's History of the United States". These history books go in to more detail about parts of american history that school books and other sources whitewash or leave out all together.

Here is video and audio of Democracy Now! with an hour of selected readings from "Voice's of a People's History..."

Some really excellent speeches, if you aren't moved atleast once you are stone. :)

"Performances include Danny Glover as Frederick Douglass, Marisa Tomei as Cindy Sheehan, Floyd Red Crow Westerman as Tecumseh and Chief Joseph, Sandra Oh as Emma Goldman and Yuri Kochiyama, and Viggo Mortensen as Bartolomeo de Las Casas and Mark Twain."
