Which Would You Consider The Most Demanding Job? Running A Country Like
Venezuala, or being president of the United States. Which job would demand, require, more intelligence, more skill?

Stop calling Chavez an idiot. It reeks of classic arrogance. Stop saying he's stupid.

2. Have you read Dona Barbara?
The stage that we currently are in today, where landowners and lawyers have taken over the country like mobsters, is what that story is about. And that was written well over 50 years ago. I still don't know where Chavez is headed, but it's obvious that the more the US provokes him, the more he'll have such outbursts, which probably won't resonate with the American people, though he'll be loved overseas.

5. Wow!
You are just about the only person I've run into who has ever read Dona Barbara! Did you know that at one time there was talk of making a movie? I believe Sophia Loren was quite interested in seeing it made.

I wore my Venezuelan bracelet today...Chavez pretty much said what many, myself included, have thought about * for a long time. I consider it a 'Wake up call'.

6. Apparently they did make it into a movie. Two, in fact, though I
don't think they did well.

I think that book will explain what drives Chavez. I know it made an impact on me. I see similar patterns happening here in the US.

About ten years ago, I took a writing class and almost fell out of my chair when the teacher passed out a list of CONTEMPORARY stories. On the list was "100 years of Solitude." I said, "Cien Anos De Soledad," isn't contemporary!

3. Staying alive is one.

It's one dangerous job in many South American countries especially those in which the United States and Great Britain have vested interests in. There have been many predecessors to Chavez who want to change their countries economics to benefit the majority of the citizens not just the elite few at the top and what foreign countries like ours bleed from them.

Most of them have died in assassinations and coups. The fact that Chavez has been able to outsmart them and still stay on his program of change certainly shows what an intelligent and unusual man he is. I hope he lives long enough to succeed.
