Who Gave The More Outrageous UN Speech? Chavez or Powell?
Edited on Thu Sep-21-06 06:07 PM by stopbush
Which speaker spoke truth and which speaker pandered lies? Which speaker truly insulted the honor,
integrity and intelligence of the world body?

Which speaker knew he was lying when he gave his speech but held the UN and the world in such contempt
that he went ahead and spouted his lies anyway? Which speech led to the deaths of tens of thousands of
innocent civilians? Which speech did the most to destroy the hopes of the world for reconciliation, progress
and peace?

Which speaker did the US media castigate? Which speaker did the US media embrace as if it he were
delivering holy writ?

Which speech made its orator infamous? Which speech raised the profile of the person delivering it?

Sometimes a bit of perspective helps.

1. Powell is a good military man
"Theirs is not to question why/ But to do and die." He knew it was wrong but he did it because he had orders. Chavez is apparently a bad military man - he does what is right, not what is expected of him. I suppose the difference is that Chavez cares more about his people than some ephemeral concept he learned in the army.
