Deal Struck on Torture Because "This will NOT be the last war we fight"
Edited on Thu Sep-21-06 04:37 PM by Leopolds Ghost
Just in according to Ed Schultz.

Lindsay Graham and McCain said this Sunday.

Is this a smokescreen for including Bush's package bill legalizing NSA wiretaps?

Both Lindsay Graham and McCain have said on SUNDAY'S MTP:

"It is important to reach some sort of agreement with the President on this that does not sacrifice the Geneva Conventions, that is sooo important because...

THIS WAR IN IRAQ WILL **NOT** BE THE LAST WAR WE FIGHT. We couls have our men captured -- CIA, soldiers, by Iran or some other power..."

THIS WILL **NOT** BE THE LAST WAR WE ARE INVOLVED IN -- they BOTH emphasized this STRONGLY, as if to imply another war, SOON, and indicated that Iran was next.

And don't you just love the EVIL of so-called "Christians" who insist that America will continue waging war until the End of Time?

2. These quites from Graham and McCain are important, people
They were tipped off about Iran. That is why they are so committed to make this deal.

"This will NOT be the last war we fight in the war on terror, Tim."

3. One more kick
I must be the only person who noticed the Iran connection to this quote.

(not to mention the basic contention we will continue waging war "for all time")

5. The issue is the CERTAINTY THAT WE WILL BE AT WAR AGAIN
Edited on Thu Sep-21-06 05:45 PM by Leopolds Ghost
before the War on Terror is over, obviously.

Anyone who has studied the Classics knows that such certainty is demonic for all but the most bloodthirsty dictator.

Even ancient Emperors -- the ones who wanted to be remembered as just leaders -- did not look forward with relish to endless warfare in their time and make contingency plans on the CERTAINTY of another war against the same enemy. That's pure Machiavellianism, on the part of the most bloodthirsty rulers.
