1. I think Rangel just feels loyalty to the US

I don't care who disrespects bush, verbally, he deserves it so why do we care about 1 man's opinion? Olberman made Chavez one of his worst people in the world last night and no one is going nuts about that.

I just don't care and I don't need an apology from either of them.

4. Olberman did a bad in my book.

Chavez said what we on DU say every day, and it needs to be said repeatedly by world leaders. We also need other world leaders to come forward and help publicize the election thefts that are going on in every state in the country. Until we get rid of the voting machines that have been forced on us, we will NEVER get things straightened out in this country, because the same damn republican party will forever hold the power.

and I don't thing he has anything to apologize for. As progressives, if we are going to fight for the US to stop sticking it's nose in everyone's politics around the world then we have the responsibility to expect other countries to do the same for us.

you must mean "right wing" in this instance.

Freedom of speech doesn't mean only those who say what we like- And while I disagree with Rangel's opinion, he has every right to voice it. I DO believe Rangel is just playing cover your ass, because he's looking out for his own skin-

And THAT is something I cannot encourage or approve of.
Integrety in the little things, is evidence of integrety in the BIG things. Rangel wants to silence and distance himself from Chavez? Then he's no defender of freedom of speech or champion of the truth. Why does Rangel not come out as vehemently when bush struts around the world calling anyone and everyone the most offensive and ridiculous names-? Because bush is 'an american'
