The message is not “don’t enlist” but rather to provide young people and their families a more complete picture of the life-altering consequences of joining the military – especially in wartime. That's some powerful stuff. As with everything else, from buying a cup of coffee to a new TV - it's best to get both sides of the story before jumping in. There's a massive conflict of interest with recruiters - they have targets, and they want to meet them. The kids should know what they're signing up for. It's not sitting on the beach drinking mojitos with your army buddies. It's watching your friends die, watching your friends kill, and watching innocent people being murdered. That can, and frequently does, fuck people up for life.
