Tweety Was Right, Iraq War Coverage Has Disappeared from MSM
....How can that be?

IF we are going to fight a war, we need to see the consequences of that war. In this war, we do not even seen the coffins returning to the US, let alone the bodies.

THe rest of the world is seeing the bodies, and they know the import of what is going on.

6. The country should be hearing the debate about civil war in Iraq and what
US policy should be towards interfering in a nation's civil war. Warner said a new resolution would need to be drawn and voted on.

BushInc doesn't want Iraq discussed BECAUSE it's in civil war NOW, and any discussion of a new IWR proves that Murtha and Kerry have been right all along calling for withdrawal based on the fact Iraq is now a POLITICAL battle, not one a military belongs in.

The corporate media needs to give Bush the protection they have been set up for -if Dem party doesn't take corpmedia head on and expose their servitude, then expect things to get WORSE.

There is no clear shot at Bush until the media gets exposed FIRST.

7. Just because Tweety and the MSM
are "bored" with the war, doesn't mean the American people don't care.

8. I know the answer! I know the answer!
The right-wingers were complaining that the Liberal Media was only reporting the bad news, so the MSM decided to please everyone by not showing anything at all.

How many points do I get?

9. I suspect we are engaged in
a very intense very messy fight in Anbar and Bagdhad right now and there isn't much going on that the government would like us to see right now. I'd take footage of one of those schools going up.

11. I got the impression Tweety was merely pointing out the fact
that when the media turns from the amount of coverage the Iraq war deserves, like now, because Bush is pulling all this other sickening crap, that it bodes well for the Republicans. Tweety's been against the Iraq war from the beginning and he knows most of the American people are against it now. If Bush can keep other things, speeches, threatening to all but allow torture in the Geneva Convention, even having his own ass being skewered in the media for such things, the less is heard about how terrible and irreversible the situation in Iraq truly is at this time. Magician's trick. Watch this hand, while the other one is cutting your throat. Most Americans aren't paying all that much attention. They might catch something here or there on the news and if it's Bush looking tough (puke) on the TV, or Chavez calling him the devil, or constant news about an Iranian threat...well, Iraq can get easily shoved to the back of their brain. That's very good news for the Republicans.

At least I think that's what Tweety has been talking about. Maybe not.

14. the "war" show was getting intense...so we changed to the "London terror"
show. Then it was the "Jon Benet" show, and the "torture" show. Now the MSM wants us to watch the "Iran" show. Any "show" to get our minds off of the real truth that--that the prez is a nut-job and ruining our country.

15. Tweety, Lou Dobbs, Scmucker Carlson, Joe Scarborough
were and are war enablers. They either cheer led for the war or portrayed the dems as weak on security. They had mainly Republicans on their shows. They were the mouthpiece for the administration on other issues and they always waved the flag. They never spoke out then. Only in the last year have we see them all swing against the war and attempt to gradually portray themselves as mislead victims. They are not innocent. The people who had their heads removed, their bodies blown to bits, their lives taken away, their family members killed, they are victims. The fact that these "mouthpieces" never spoke out for the innocents enabled the warmongers to commit their war. In his position he could have helped prevent an unjust war. He didn't. Matthews is pathetic now to get upset with Imus over his cheer leading/Republican ass kissing. The tide is turning and now he wants to stay afloat. An interesting link here on our complicit media. http://www.lewrockwell.com/north/north475.html

16. I wasn't watching Dobbs coverage in '03
Edited on Thu Sep-21-06 12:54 PM by RamboLiberal
So I don't know how much cheerleading he was doing. But I do watch him now. And while I may not agree with him on every issue - for instance he has gone overboard on illegal immigration - or with some of the guests or pundits he has on, he has consistently covered the blood shed in Iraq for the last several months I've been watching. He reports the number of American troops killed, injured, and so seriously injured they could not return to duty.

And he's the only MSM person to talk almost daily about the problems with electronic voting.

It's for those two reasons I try to catch at least some of his show each day.

Tweety has me so disgusted with his Repuke ass-kissing and dumping on Hillary and Dems I've basically tuned him out. Tweety blows too damn hot and cold for my taste.

So basically where I get my news besides DU is Dobbs, KO, some of AC360 (only cause it's on when I'm usually on my PC), Daily Show and Colbert Report.

The last week or so I've been very impressed on CNN by the reporting from Iraq by Michael Ware (with the broken nose and scruffy growth he looks like a war reporter). I also thought Anderson Cooper did some good reporting from the forgotten war in Afghanistan.

17. Yeah ...
As noted, I don't remember Dobbs from the runnup, but my sense, what I have read here is that he was a Bush Booster on it ... No discenssion kind of guy ...

That being said, I agree right now, he is the only MSM person who treats it like NEWS ... Just the facts ... KO, of course, takes the hard shots on the current hot topic ... Tweety, as you said, runs FAR too hot and cold ... But, there is one thing he is consistent with ... While he MIGHT take some shots at Bushco, he will ALWAYS portray us negatively ... ALWAYS ...

18. I agree that he seems to have come around now.
And he's definently caught on with the vote fraud. I think we all owe that one to BradBlog and BlackBoxVoting and Avi Ruben. But during the run up to the war he was a definite cheerleader. I think he regrets it now. Read this article at Consortium news a Dobbs quote then. Also The Scarborough Quote is quite telling. http://www.consortiumnews.com/2006/031906.html
