TV Newser: O'Reilly's On An Al Qaeda "Death List?"
Wednesday, Sep 20
O'Reilly's On An Al Qaeda "Death List?"

Timed to the release of his new book, Bill O'Reilly will be profiled on 20/20 Friday night. ABCNews.com has a preview:

O'Reilly says his fame and success -- and sometimes controversial views -- have come with a price.

"With the controversy comes death threats on a daily basis," O'Reilly said. "Not only from kooks. But the FBI came in and warned me and a few other people at Fox News that al Qaeda had us on a death list. That's a little disconcerting."

12. Al Franken just announced he's on the death list too!
After he heard O'Reilly's claim, and determined that he couldn't confirm it, he said Yeah, me too.

"I'm bulletproof on this. There's no way to prove it."

13. If al Qaeda Ever Captured bin Reilly
If al Qaeda ever captured bin Reilly, they'd be wise to photograph him trussed up like a turkey, sans trousers or underwear, and with his bum coated in shoe polish. Then they'd be wise to let him go--but only after the images of Faux News' leading blowhard got distributed far and wide over the Internet.

15. He Might Enjoy It At The Time, But Later...
Bin Reilly might enjoy it at the time, but later on he'd catch heat from his more prudish viewers and listeners for being caught nekkid.

16. O'Reilly's falling-out with Al Qaeda
goes back to when he overstepped his bounds and commanded them to attack San Francisco in payback against the citizens of San Francisco (for voting to keep military recruiters out of the schools).

This was O'Reilly trying to unleash the hounds so to speak:
"We're going to say, look, every other place in America is off limits to you, except San Francisco. You want to blow up the Coit Tower? Go ahead."

Al Qaeda decided that O'Reilly wasn't a good enough terrorist recruitment tool to justify putting up with his assholeishness.

As reported on The Raw Story:

THE IDIOT BOX

Bill O'Reilly's Death Wish

MOCKED MAN--Bill O'Reilly may be the most fervent flag waver on cable—a patriot who believes in torturing terrorists and profiling all Muslims. But is that enough to get him targeted by Al Qaeda?
The loofah-loving Fox News host is raising plenty of eyebrows around the office after telling Barbara Walters in an interview with ABC's 20/20 that, "the FBI came in and warned me and a few other people at Fox News that Al Qaeda had us on a death list." O'Reilly describes the experience—as well as other violent threats he says he's received from various "kooks"—as "disconcerting."

But the reaction from some of his colleagues sounds more like disbelief. "I've never heard that before," says a correspondent for Fox News, who added that neither he nor anyone he's spoken to at the network has been warned by the FBI. "I do know the government has warned Fox about threats in the past, but I don't think they involved specific people."

A high-level exec at another cable news channel was less circumspect. "That sounds like absolute bullshit to me—it's typical O'Reilly," he says. "We've never received any similar warnings from the FBI or any other government agency, and we've done plenty of reporting to piss off Bin Laden."

UPDATE:
A skeptical federal law enforcement official contacted Radar this morning: "I'm not aware of any FBI agents warning anyone at Fox News of their presence on any list....For that matter, I'm not aware of any Al Qaeda hit list targeting journalists. Agents from the D.C. field office, FBI headquarters, and an agent from the kidnapping unit went to Fox's offices in New York last month to advise them specifically on the Gaza kidnapping (of Fox employees Steve Centanni and Olaf Wiig). But they only talked to management, they didn't talk to any individual journalists."
--------------------

There you have it folks, directly from the Fed's mouth: O'Lie-ly is a lying sack of shit.
But we at DU knew that, now didn't we?

BULLSHIT ALERT! BULLSHIT ALERT! BULLSHIT ALERT! BULLSHIT ALERT! BULLSHIT ALERT! BULLSHIT ALERT! BULLSHIT ALERT! BULLSHIT ALERT!

22. I'd bet Billdo pulled that out of the same place he gets most of his
"facts." Remember his authoritative "stats" re: the effectiveness of his boycott France campaign that he cited from the "Paris Business Review," a publication that didn't exist?
