8. Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance (The American Empire Project)

Seems like that "commie pinko dictator" Chavez might have lit a little fire of truth. This is extremely bad news for BushCo, I imagine the WH is very pissed.

despite the fact that BushCo and the corporate media constantly demonize the man. It's nice to know that people are starting to think for themselves again. :-)

Chavez holds up a book and it zooms into Amazon's Top Ten! That's priceless!

He despised Clinton's, Carter's, Reagan's, Bush41's and now Shrub's. Don't get the impression that Chomsky is a big fan of the Democrats and selectively dislikes the Republicans. It simply is not so.

Knowledge is power. To that end Chavez has helped to empower the american people. I can't help but have the feeling yesterday was a small victory for the poor and powerless. I've long suspected the establishment's worst nightmare would be every american picking up a Noam Chomsky book.

Chomsky's political tome is an overnight bestseller after Chavez's U.N. speech
The U.N. address by Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez has had an unexpected impact -- on the best seller lists of Amazon.com and Barnes & Noble.com.

At the start of his talk Wednesday, during which Chavez referred to President Bush as "the devil," Chavez held up a book by Noam Chomsky, "Hegemony or Survival: America's Quest for Global Dominance," and recommended it to everyone in the General Assembly, as well as to the American people.

"The people of the United States should read this ... instead of the watching Superman movies," Chavez later told reporters.

As of noon Thursday, "Hegemony or Survival," published in 2003, had jumped to No. 4 at Amazon (up from 20,664) and No. 7 at Barnes & Noble.com (up from 748). Metropolitan Books has ordered an additional paperback printing of 25,000 copies.

82. I'm ordering it because..............
I've had the word hegemony in my head all day and kept thinking what the heck am I playing with that word in my mind? Now I know why.

I'm getting it. I believe I should actually read something besides internet stuff for once.

I'm sold!

Bill Olielly's new book is ranked 59th
John Gisbon's book is ranked 64,419.

I expect the reviews for Olielly's book will be freeped, once the book goes offically on sale on the 25th.
