Karl Rove Promises October Surprise
Karl Rove Promises October Surprise
Newsmax ^ | Sept. 21, 2006 | Ronald Kessler

WASHINGTON -- In the past week, Karl Rove has been promising Republican insiders an "October surprise" to help win the November congressional elections.

President Bush's political strategist is also saying that the final two weeks before the elections will see a blitz of advertising, and the Republican National Committee is deploying an army of volunteers to key locations to help the grass-roots effort and monitor the elections.

The RNC is offering to fly in volunteers and cover their expenses.
...
As for the October Surprise, Rove said, "I'd rather let the balance unroll on its own."

3. Karl, the Pillsbury plump dough boy
A pun. I think the GOP should keep the mess they made in their gear for another two years. Let em have it.

America is on a nose dive in every way. Let the GOP and their supporters ram it into the ground. Sometimes it takes hitting bottom before you climb up.

5. "monitor the elections"
so they'll be at the polls challenging voters to slow down the lines and discouraging people form staying and voting.

i'm so glad we can vote by mail here in colorado and that it's actually encouraged. no harassment and at least there's some sort of paper trail.

15. The RW propaganda machine is desperately trying to keep
their flock upbeat.

And look at this part:

But, Mehlman said, "I believe that the combination of the relatively narrow playing field, the relatively strong financial position our folks are in and the national party is in, the good turnout operation that we have, the motivation of our base, and the lack of motivation of their base as indicated by turnout in a number of recent Democrat primaries," will do the trick.

Turnout at Dem primaries equals turnout at the task of ridding Congress with as many of these RW crooks as possible?

How that that equation be made?

If I can get off my butt & do it, anybody can. Call your local Dem cand's office & sign up.

It's one day out of your life. They'll train you. If folks are on DU whining about E-voting on election day, shame on everybody.

47. Already do that.
But here we use paper (scanned) ballots and everybody knows everybody. We may not, in total, have many voters in this neck of the woods, but we all (R's & D's) do respect the process and make sure everything is above board and honest.

This is small town America, elehhhhna. What I worry about is large town America.

40. The primaries mean absolutely nothing by themselves, Ken.
Take a look at who's winning them. The anti-war candidates, right?

That means that people aren't happy with the way you're running the country. I know it's hard for you to understand, but you're going to lose in November, and you'll like it.

Right now he is free to create all kinds of mischief. He should be put on the spot, required to answer questions under oath. The more time he spends defending himself, the less he has to direct dirty tricks against Dems.

24. I know the October surprise
NO ONE can find the new super precincts. Because of HAVA we have gone from neighborhood precinct to super precincts in Denver. My old one was a church one block away. The closest new one is a 1/2 mile away in D/T Denver in an area that has elderly and sickly.....They won't vote! This is a VERY BLUE area. We send Degette back to Congress so many times and NO ONE runs against her......BUT We need Ritter as Governor or we get Beauprez!

of that there isn't any doubt, it's become synonymous with being a reptile. I don't think an Osamacickle would get them what they want, energy prices are already coming down.
I believe they'll foil a mihop and crow from the rooftops, not one of these groups of people who couldn't hit their ass with both hands, but someone with real hatebility and competence.
Then come january watch the fuck out if these bastards steal it again, all pretense will be gone and they'll just seize everything.
