2. I think it's because the deaths are happening so frequently.
Sadly, people come to expect hearing about them and become immune.

3. Those that aren't listening haven't been impacted by the soldiers
deaths...

they lack empathy and they are "Good germans"! Like the "good unaware Germans" they will notice when it is their children going off to * never ending wars. They choose not to see the carnage and the destruction of life...

We here at DU are acutely aware of the devastation because we choose to be informed....

5. deaths In War
I just posted My wish tonight...the problem is people have a
problem with death and dying. We hide it here in America esp.
Roadkill is even picked up quickly in most areas so we
aren't "exposed". As a nurse, I saw plenty,
experienced it cried plenty, and died al little each time,
War is Hell=o!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It needs to be stopped it
solves nothing I spoke with a 16 year old here from Bosnia he
said he lived the horrors of war there and it did nothing but
drive them out of their homeland....how sad. Plus he lost a
Dad and brother.

6. Thank you for sharing.....Keepontruking
you are right...the American population is shielded from the true horrors of war...because if they were face to face with it they sure as hell wouldn't support it...

Welcome to DU!!:hi:

7. Because they're presented as statistics
Not as humanity.

If all news media followed Jim Lehrer's lead and showed names and photos of the dead every day, we'd see a bigger anti-war shift.
