GOP Leader Threatens Lobbyists
Is he in denial? Or does he know something we don't?

The Republican Party's "K Street Project," intended to make lobbyists pledge their allegiance to the GOP, has supposedly been shut down in the wake of the Abramoff scandal. But in the mind of Rep. Tom Reynolds, chair of the National Republican Congressional Committee, the effort is still very much alive.

Last week, according to Roll Call, Reynolds warned a gathering of top lobbyists to refrain from donating to Democrats. "For those of you thinking about hedging your bets, I am watching you and I am going to know," said Reynolds, according to one Republican source at the meeting. "We will have no choice but to report to the Republican Conference any changes in your pattern of giving," Reynolds added, according to a second source.

1. These guys would never ever win an election if
they had any honor or ethical inclinations.

6. Is a "better GOTV" just a cover for vote stuffing and vote suppression?
VRWC funded by a few billionaires and a MSM that is biased to the right/controlled by the right as to story selection and point of view allowed and point of view suppressed are very real forces in the election, but I doubt the GOTV - this ability shows up in last 7 years just as elections and exit polls become very very different - I smell something wrong here.

3. "I am watching you and I am going to know"
Kyyyyrist, doesn't the Graft Or Paola party ever stop????

When you run out of ideas and lack moral, ethical, or spiritual leadership, then threats and fear might work...for awhile.

4. He knows something we don't.
There is no other way he would make that threat. Why would the lobbyists give a damned otherwise if Tom was watching them and knew, reported them or gave a shit? Something is just so very wrong here. Perhaps they are taking their cue from Thailand, I wish I knew.

5. Potentially good for us.
I don't think it's going to happen, but if the Dems do stage a comeback and those weasels don't hedge their bets, the entire industry could be shut out instantly.

That's because not only would the asshole Republican firms be out in the cold, but for the past five years the liberal-leaning lobby firms have been running skeleton crews--and the best of those that remain would likely be called in to staff jobs on the Hill.

The Dems would be able to set a legislative agenda nearly unobstructed--and if they were smart, the first item of business would be to freeze out all the lobbyists, permanently.

You'd have about six months to strike while the anvil is hot--to regulate lobbying so strictly that they can never again get away with all the ludicrous activity which is now par for the course.

It's all a pipe dream, but that's a nice pipe to be smoking.
