Poll question: Graphic suggestion for CBS News with Katie Couric

She is truly a tool. I think the MSM has reached a new pinnacle of faux-journalism and her hiring will be seen as a benchmark for how controlled the media is by corporate and other censoring powers.

Have you watched the show?

1. Bob Schieffer has done a couple of good commentaries...
Edited on Wed Sep-20-06 07:46 PM by Eric J in MN
...since Katie Couric started hosting.

One criticizing secret prisons, another (tonight) saying there are valid comparisons between the Iraq War and the Vietnam War (said there was gov't spin during both wars.)

8. Schieffer at least has some stones...yet he's "good friends with Bush"
I'm guessing Dan is giving him some pointers and he may flame out before he is finally let out to the CBS pasture...

4. I'll give her this
I now watch NO network news.

Maybe she'll be a Howard Beale ,of sorts, in that her network will pay to have her, well, you know. }(

9. Schieffer might pull a "Howard Beale"...Katie is too frightened to do that
I would imagine Katie sits in news meetings and shoots down stories that are "too sad", "too risky", "too complicated"...

I've been in news meetings before in the past where people like Katie are more concerned about not getting people "upset" with "negative news"... she's a Yellow Ribbon Gal willing to play the Perfect Pentagon Puppet. With a nice salary, she is ready to be a whore. Oh, and that million dollar chessycat smile... is she prettier than...oh, gosh...what was I thinkin'.

10. I'd be willing to bet you are correct.
In reading about CBS's "listening" tour when KC was being trotted out for the masses she mentioned that many viewers found the news "too depressing". :wtf:

11. I watched a little bit
All of the news shows and TV in general seems like one big commercial. The rest of the TV shows are about psychopaths and the young and the restless.
