Tonight I hope to sit behind a drum kit for only the second time in well over a decade.

I will be, if the moment comes, playing out all the rage over what has become of America, and the joy that coming and reading at DU has brought me for well over 4 years, as well as the friendships I have found here.

But most of all, I will play.

I'll be 2nd drummer, the owner of the place where it's going on is the drummer, and if he feels like a rest, I'll have a sit. But I'll still enjoy myself to no end if that isn't the case, they are all great players and I'll be inches from the speakers.

I retired from touring (again) about 8 years ago. Lately, I've been taking out my frustrations on the electronic kit at our local church. It is really therapeutic and I'm enjoying the heck out of it!

It's certainly a lot more fun when you don't have to travel or load/set up gear.

28. Update:

Had a blast last night. I didn't get a chance to play (no aww's k? LOL) but I was witness to something that not many non-band members get to see. I saw a band find it's sound and direction, all in the course of a few hours. And although there were no sticks in my hand, I was playing along to 2 fine guitarists, one bass player and a drummer who were cookin up some tasty versions of songs, and dipping into originals as well. There will be other chances to sit in, and I'll be ready for them. I might have signed on as part-time roadie, and also as the band's unofficial mascot. Arf!

And, no the band's name isn't The Wiseass Parody Boys. So there. :p
