Stop Big Media
Major media companies have lobbied the FCC to erase restrictions on how many newspapers, television and radio stations they can own. They want to rewrite rules so that big national companies could potentially own the major daily newspaper, radio stations and television stations in a single town.

The FCC wants to help these companies do just that.

The FCC must first seek public comment to any proposed rewrite of the rules.

More than 40 public and consumer advocacy groups, including Free Press, Common Cause, Consumers Union, National Council of Churches and the Newspapers Guild-CWA have formed the StopBigMedia.com coalition to make sure that the FCC puts on more than a show.

StopBigMedia has set up a nice and easy form which enables us to add our voices to theirs to tell the FCC we don't want to hand over all the media to BigMedia Cos.

Nice and easy.

3. Yes, it kinda surprises me also
Everyone says they are upset about corporate media. One of the few rules remaining in our favor is that the FCC has to consider our voices on the media consolidation issue.

But it appears almost no one wants their voice counted.
