BUSH Admin & Senate Move To AXE Reporter Shield Law
Bush Administration, Senate move to axe voter shield law

Brian Beutler
Published: Wednesday September 20, 2006

The Bush Administration is seeking to undermine legislation that, if passed, would protect journalists and anonymous whistleblowers, RAW STORY has learned.

Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee will listen to testimony today regarding a reporter shield law called the Free Flow of Information Act.

"I think they want no law at all," said one senior staffer familiar with the proceedings. "They're sending Deputy Attorney General Paul McNulty up to hammer it."

The bill, cosponsored by a bipartisan coalition of nine moderate senators, is a successor to a similar piece of legislation that appeared before the same committee last year.

1. Can't you just smell the desperation?
There must be some juicy stories in the cooker...and BushCo is overdrawn on their exemptions.

3. Bush and his Gestapo are running scared. Desperate, fearful
of what the future holds for them. They know their sins, and they know they are getting backed into a corner. To protect themselves, they are making documents secret so others can't see them or know their contents. They are attempting to retroactively legalize their illegal activities. They want to put fear into anyone who considers outing their dirty deeds, and they will attempt to do so by removing protections.

George Bush and his (mis)administration are evil. America does not deserve to have these people ruin our country. They must be stopped, investigated, and dealt with. They must be held accountable for their actions. I'm just not sure who in America has the balls to make sure justice is served and protected.
